1982 Mercedes Benz 240D. I am the 3rd owner of this vehicle. The first owner had this car from new until about 2008. The second owner had this car for about 2 years. My wife purchased this car back in 2010 with the intent of using it as a vegetable oil powered vehicle. Once all the modifications were made, she changed her mind (the car ran too well and was too good a machine to experiment with), so we just kept using diesel. As such, this car has a heated filter and heated fuel lines professionally installed in case you ever wanted to run vegetable oil. Please note though, we never have, so I can't tell you too much about running WVO, except that this car *should* be capable of doing so. I also have all of the original paperwork, window stickers, and most service receipts for the car since new. It looks like a new engine was installed by a Mercedes Benz dealer around 1991, so this new engine only has about 80,000 miles on it, and it runs very well. Starts up in about 1-2 seconds after the glow plugs do their job. Car is equipped with power sunroof, cruise control, and air conditioning. Windows are manual. Power locks and trunk lock all work fine. Note that the hood ornament is a little off center in pictures. I noticed this afterward and moved it back straight : ) Here is what I have done to the car since my wife purchased it, along with regular oil changes: 2010:Flushed fuel tank, fuel lines, fuel senderNew differential fluidNew transmission fluid 2011:New A/C compressor, receiver dryer, hoses, flush and refill with ester oil and R134aNew radio with bluetooth and MP3/iPod features, and HD Radio tuner. 2012:New antenna, new condenser coil. New radiator hoses, heater hoses, and coolant Tires are in good shape overall. This car is being sold because this is a 4th car, and we just sit and admire it more than drive it. It really would be a great match for a daily driver, hobbyist, or collector. No smog check required for diesels, registration just renewed to January 2013.
