Vehicle Detail
This car is a head turner....and will turn 50 years old next year. I am the third owner of this vehicle. Although I have only had it for 6 months (and driven it less than a dozen times) I would still consider this a 2 owner vehicle. I am selling this car because it is winter and I am tired of parking my truck outside. When I purchased this car, I received the following parts/accessories: Custom stitched car cover featuring the name "BRUNHILDE" - includes storage bag Parts accessories from a different vehicle - stripped from junkyard - door handles, wiper blade holders, lenses, ashtray, exhaust pipe, etc....too many to list Dozens of the publication "The Star" Mercedes Benz Club of America Magazine OEM replacement parts "new in box" OEM original box with "old part in box" (previous owner kept old parts for reference -see photos) The previous owner had the car for 20 years. Here is his summary: Meticulous record keeping + service and parts receipts Vehicle has "seen rain only once in 20 years" Extra parts were acquired from a local junk yard - previous owner grabbed everything he could Rebuilt everything back to OEM spec - using exploded views from Mercedes - kept all old parts and receipts Switched the points to electronic ignition Repaired right front side fender and re-painted 100% outside shell New parts in bag: head liner, rear window seal, shifter indicator cable, misc. parts & gaskets New tires Added a piece of structural steel under the radiator for support (this is non OEM) The following is a list of "unfinished" repairs the previous owner handed off to me: He planned on replacing the head liner. The original owner that bought the car in 1963 was a cigar smoker. The head liner is a bit tarnished above the right rear passenger seat. To replace the head liner, the rear window has to come out too. There is a new head liner and rear window seal included with this car. The gear shifter cable is broken. The car shifts, but you cannot tell which gear you are in. There is a new shifter indicator cable in the glovebox. There are two leaks under the vehicle: rear differential? and transmission? There are a couple new gaskets that could be to repair these leaks (I am no mechanic....so, I don't know for sure about the gaskets) Repair tear on driver side seat (see pictures) Repair split on steering wheel Fix door lock mechanism on driver side door If you have any specific questions or need additional pictures, please let me know. If you email me your phone number and a good time to call, I will do so to answer any of your questions. Good Luck and Happy Bidding.
