A True GREEN Machine for Diesel & Biodiesel The Great: Green 1983 Mercedes Benz 300SD 3.0 Liter 5-cylinder Turbo-Diesel vehicle has a 130,000 mile rebuilt cast-iron engine from a 1985 Mercedes Diesel Vehicle and a 100,000 mile rebuilt transmission. The engine swap was performed by the Baltimore Body Shop (located directly across the street from the Sisson Street Baltimore Food Co-op/ B-more Biodiesel Co-op Fuel pump). We have over $3,700.00 in receipts for labor and parts that have been done to this vehicle. New Battery. New Alternator. Both fuel filters were swapped over with every seasonal change. A/C was converted to R134a and recharged. K.Y.B. Shocks (Front & Rear). Newer glow plugs and glow plug relay. Moon-roof still works great. No visible rust. Jack-ports are clean. This car came to us from a former Baltimore Biodiesel (www.baltimorebiodiesel.org) member with the main fuel lines B100-ready, since then we have swapped all of the return lines over to B100-Hoses. So you can use any combo of BioDiesel/Diesel at any time, all year long, with no worries. This car would make a great candidate for a Waste Vegetable Oil ( WVO ) conversion. No visible rust. www.baltimorebiodiesel.org It has been seriousily "tuned up" and all of the slop has been taken out of the linkage, so it really takes off! Not like other MB diesel slugs out there. It gets about 24-26 mpg city and 29-31 highways... and is fun to drive. The not-so-great: The one back window needs a new regulator, no biggie. There is only one key. Copies can be made at any MB Dealership for $43.00 each. The mileage and trip odometers are intermittent, but can be easily rebuilt. Selling it AS IS , where is with no warranty implied. We have a set of (made for Mercedes Benz cars) 4 - 17 inch Mandrus "Wagon" Wheels (4 Goodyear Eagle F1 GS 235/40/17 with 85-90% tread) that can be installed upon the vehicle for an extra $800.00 above the winning bid. We also have an extra set of 4 matching 17" General Brand Ultra-High Performance Street tires (55-60% tread) that we will put in the trunk (unmounted) for free if you buy the Mandrus wheel set, of course. 8 high quality tires and 17" rims for an extra $800.00! We bought a real cherry 300TDT Wagon (with a third row) and have converted it to run on a combination of Waste Veggie Oil WVO/Biodiesel/Dino Diesel, so we no longer have a need for this car. We have owned this MB sedan for the past two years and have now decided to offer up the beloved 300SD 4-Door sedan, rather than let it keep sitting in our garage.
