Vehicle Detail
I am re-listing this since it did not sell first time around. Let's make it easy. Best offer over the listed $3700 takes it. 1988.5 Suzuki Samurai, TIN TOP, 5 speed. Not entirely sure which owner I am, probably 4th. Purchased on E-bay in December 2008. This Sammi is from California, it was towed behind a motor home for a long time. Probably about 160k on the chassis, the engine was rebuilt in California by a previous owner, about 8k before I bought it. I have put about 6k on it. I replaced the instrument cluster about 1k ago. This newer instrument cluster shows 96k. Previous owner added a 6.5.1 Rockcrawler, Axle Truss (FRNT), Skid Plate, Axle Truss (REAR) a bolt on hitch and replaced speedo gears. Previous owner added five oversized American Racing chrome rims. Here's what I have done since purchasing the Sammi - 5 new 235/75R15 Yokohama tires (about 4k wear now on the tires). The clutch and clutch cable are new, New throw out bearing and pilot gear. All transmission syncros gears have been replaced. Tranny is smooth, the four wheel drive works flawlessly, New battery, New K&N lifetime air filter, New re-built starter, New re-built carburetor, all fluids replaced and wheel bearings replaced along with front axle seals, New front calipers and brake pads, New catalytic converter. I added two off road lights and a roof rack. I have the front mount tow hitch, and the rear seat (neither shown in photos) there is no AC, no radio, I added the wood trim (homemade, but not bad looking.) I have replaced the gas float twice without total success, the most recent attempt is fairly painless, the Sammi has a 10 gal tank, when the tank is full the guage reads full, when the guage reads empty, you still have 5 gallons. I fill when it hits empty and have no problems. There is ZERO rust anywhere. One front spring had a bent leaf causing the steering to be off a little, I replaced it and she tracks well now. I have about $7k invested. All lights work. If you are going to finish her, the passenger side door handle has a chip off the end making it a little troublesome for little fingers (but it still works,.) and she will need paint one day. This Sammi is worth the effort for an enthusiast. I've tried to be thorough in my analysis, I can't think of anything else at the moment. Good luck !
