Vehicle Detail
1952 Ford F-1 Pickup Truck. This is a true Barn Find. This truck has been sitting in dry storage in Nebraska for years. The Information that I got was that it was originally a U.S. Forestry Service Truck. It still has Decals on the Dash and a Road Flare Box on the Side of the Bed, from the Forestry Service. It was sold at auction in the 1960s or 1970s and purchased by a Farmer. It sat in the Farmer's Barn for many years. I do not know how many years. The truck appears to have all of it's original Paint. It has wear through and great Patina, all over. This truck has that shop worn look everyone is looking for in a Vintage F-1. The Body on this truck is great. There are some dents and dings, but almost no rust at all. I am guessing the dry climate in Nebraska must be responsible for this. The Truck has the original OHV 6 Cylinder Engine and 3 Speed Manual Transmission with the shifter on the floor. It starts and runs well, but only has the Lead Pipe for the Exhaust. There is no Muffler or Tail Pipe. I had to have the Starter Rebuilt and bought a new Fuel Pump and Points and other Tune up Parts, to get it running. I also replaced the Master Cylinder and got the Brakes working. With a little more work, you can be driving this truck. This truck is very solid. The Cab is very solid and rust free but has some dents and dings. The Dashboard is nice and solid. There is a Factory Ford Heater. The Seat is in fair condition. The Windshield is Cracked. The Driver's Door Glass is good and rolls up and down. The Passenger Door Glass is broken and someone started to replace it. The Mechanism is apart but still with the truck. The Rear Glass is good. The Doors are very solid and I am posting a picture of the underside of each door to illustrate just how good they are. The Doors open and close and latch well. The Cab Corners are very nice and rust free. I am also posting a good picture of each of them. The Cab Floor is solid and rust free. I am posting a picture with the seat out to show the condition of the Floor. The Running Boards are good and solid but have dents and dings. The Front Fenders are good and solid but have rust at the seams. I am posting close up pictures of the Front Fenders to show this rust. This is really the only rust on the truck. The Hood is very solid but has dents and dings. The Rear Fenders are good and solid but have dents and dings. The Bed Sides are very solid. The Tail Gate is very good. The Tail Gate Chains are good and work correctly. The Bed has all of the original Steel Strips, but none of the original wood. I thought about replacing it or putting a sheet of plywood in the bed, but you can tell how solid this truck is by looking at the area under the bed. The Paint on the truck is awesome and really makes this truck. This is the look Hot Rodders and Rat Rodders are trying to copy. The Patina on this truck is real and not faked or touched up. The truck has a set of 16" wheels and newer tires. It has a full set of Hub Caps and Trim Rings. It does not have a Spare Tire. This truck runs, drives and stops. It was originally equipped with a 6 Volt Battery and Chrging System. I have been starting it with a 12 Volt Battery. The rebuilt starter was upgraded for the extra Volts and the truck starts easier with the 12 Volt. Some of the Wiring had been removed, when I got the truck, so the lights are not working. With a little tinkering and some wiring this truck could be a daily driver. It would probably not be a good idea to try and drive it home. I may be able to assist with delivery, for a fee, within a few hundred miles of Canton, Ohio. I am posting good pictures and tried to give a good description of the truck. I will try to answer any questions through email. This truck sells without reserve to the highest bidder. On Jan-13-12 at 12:05:36 PST, seller added the following information: I listed this Truck as having a 3 Speed Transmission, but it actually has a 4 Speed Transmission. Also, I said that it didn't have a Muffler, but it does, It just doesn't have the Tail Pipe that runs out the Rear of the Truck.
