1973 Triumph Trident

This 1973 Triumph Trident is up for auction. This is a matching numbers bike that will sell with a title. We purchased this bike in non-running condition. According to the tags, it last ran in 2001. Gasoline was left in the tank while it sat for ten years, and the cream liner inside the tank was destroyed. The carburetors were full of trash and gunk from the gas tank. We removed and rebuilt the carburetors, drained and cleaned the sump, and filled it up with fresh oil. When connected to a jumper battery, the ignition was working and providing spark to all three cylinders. This bike starts and runs with the help of a fuel bottle and jumper battery. You can see a video of it running below. Although the motor runs, we did not test ride this motorcycle. This motorcycle needs a lot of work before it is back on the road, a complete restoration would be the best course of action. We ran a compression test, and the results were on the low side. It has a top end leak, it would be best to rebuild this motor. The disc brake up front needs a complete rebuild; replacing the master cylinder barrel, hoses, pads, rebuild the caliper, and turn the disc. The only part of the lighting we found to work presently is the tail light. This is a project bike, not a fixer upper. IT is missing the left side panel, and it does not have an ignition key. We had to use our master key ring to switch the ignition on. There are no additional parts for this motorcycle. All shipping costs are the responsibility of the winning bidder.
