Vehicle Detail

Up for sale is a 98 Grand Cherokee 5.9 Limited with under 94,000 original miles. I purchased the jeep about 9 months ago with the intention of rebuilding it and turning it into an off-road rig. It has been sitting, all total, for the past 18 or so months. I (and the previous seller) belive it has a blown head gasket, but was never able to find the time to really look into it. It ran when I parked it, but not well. It was not driveable when I purchased it (brakes were very rusty, tires were dry-rotted and had flat spots, etc.), and is not driveable now. It will need motor work, brakes, tires, etc., just to be driveable. Overall its not in that bad of condition. The exterior is ok the paint is in pretty good shape, but it does have a lot of scratches in assorted spots. A previous owner may have hit something, or was backed into in the front end because the front bumper cover is scratched, scuffed and cracked in the corners. The 5.9 specific parts are still in good shape (side skirts, grille, hood). It has the full off-road package from the factory (skid plates, front and rear tow hooks), but no hitch. The drivers mirror glass is rainbowed, so it no longer has the auto-dimming feature. The interior is rough to fair, depending on your own opinion, I would call it fair condition as I have seen much much worse. Most of the trim pieces are in good shape. The door panels are pretty good (the drivers door panel is scratched up right at the handle looks like scratches from a ring). The seats are very comfortable and soft (more comfortable than standard limited seats, there is a difference), but the down side is they are all scratched and scuffed (drivers seat is the worst, it does have a split in the seam in the middle of the back see pic). The drivers seat is actually broken down at the bracket, you can still sit in it just cant adjust anything and I wouldnt exactly call it safe. I didnt look at it but I would think I could be fixed with some junk yard donor parts. Everything in the front is good (gauges, dash, radio, heat and ac controls, the vehicle display, etc,). Most of the trim on the back hatch is broken and missing, so that trim piece will need to be replaced. The headliner is in pretty good shape front to back. The sunroof does not work, it is off the track and i'm not sure the extent of the problem (if you open and close a door the sunroof pops open so it does leak and because of that the interior has a musty smell). Other than that, everything on the inside worked when I parked it (lights, windows, locks, mirrors, radio, controls, switches, gauges, etc), but like I said I parked it in my driveway 9 months ago so I cant guarantee anything. The brake lights were constantly staying on (probably a bad switch), so I just pulled the fuse. So they will have to be fixed before its back on the road as well. The underneath is very clean, with very little surface only rust. Nothing is rotting out underneath the jeep, even the original shocks still only have surface rust. That is the true reason that I bought the jeep, because it was in such good shape underneath. Most of the issues didnt bother me, because I wasnt looking for a perfect condition 5.9. I was looking for a grand cherokee that had no rust issues to build as an off-road rig and happened to find this rare jeep. If you are looking for a showroom or good condition 5.9, this one is not for you unless you are prepared to spend the time and money needed to restore it to that condition. Most of the issues didnt bother me considering what I was going to build it for. I hate to sell it considering this low of mileage 5.9 just doesnt pop up much anymore, but I dont have the time, room, or money to work on it, so it's gotta go. Like I said it is in no way driveable, so it will have to be towed on a flatbed or car trailer. I cannot deliver the jeep, so please dont ask. I cannot guarantee that it will run to get it on the trailer or flatbed so please be prepared for that. I have the clean title in hand, so there wont be any issues with that. It comes with a very large pile of extra parts, dash, center console, trim(interior and exterior), spark plugs and plug wires, cap and rotor, oil and oil filter, and a lot of other parts. They come with the jeep. If you dont want them you can sell them or throw them out, but they are going with the jeep. Any questions just ask. Thanks, Mike
