DONT JUDGE A BOOK BY IT'S COVER ! ! ! ! up for auction is this 1957 chevrolet 150 "handyman wagon" heater , clock, delete. . originally painted in silver and white. .this awesome running ,driving car is still sporting is "original desert patina " !!! ....untouched since it drove off the dealers lot in 1957...rescued from a 32 year slumber (last regisration is 1979)in the southern california desert and currently residing in southern nevada ...this car has undergone a complete mechanical rebuild ! (anything needing replacement was replaced with new parts) lets start with the chassis ..ALL rubber bushings were replaced with polyurethane,(at this time all front suspension components were checked for any ware and greased ) ALL shocks were replaced , ALL ball bearings were replaced with tapered roller bearings, ALL wheel cylinders were replaced along with ALL brake shoes, steel brake lines, and ALL flexible rubber lines ..... also the master cylinder was upgraded with a BRAND NEW POWER BRAKE UNIT ...as for the engine IT PURRRRRS like a kitten ( like a kitten with dual open pipes without mufflers)......(if you want a quiet ride you have to put muffs on it.... I LIKE IT LOUD! ) the 283 V8 is like BRAND NEW inside ...there is barely ANY ware on the piston skirts yet ..(the oilpan had a hole in it so i changed it, thats how i was able to look up into the engine) .it's sporting a rebuilt powerglide automatic trans ....i would NOT HESITATE TO GET IN, TURN KEY AND DRIVE TO THE EAST COAST IN THIS CAR ! ! ! ! the interior is in "as found" condition. virtually untouched with the exception of recovering the front seat (in its original style fabric and vinyl colors)& headliner. . .i hate to do anything else to the car as they are only original once! as you look at the pics please consider that this car has not even been WASHED since i started driving it just a few short months ago ....it starts runs and stops like a new 57 chevy only better with the power brakes . .the ONLY spot on the glass that is chipped is a small bb shot in the driver rear window glass..there are NO cracks in the glass at all ...the wiring harness is in PERFECT condition...only one wire was added to the harness to work the amp gauge under the dash, it is sitting along side a very old oil pressure gauge. then the wire from the amp gauge goes on to the voltage regulator all lights and turn signals work...im running a generator because it works PERFECTLY ! there is absolutely no need to upgrade the charging system ...((((a small note on the heater )))) someone along the way tried to install a heater in the car and quit about halfway through the installation ...if you would like to install a heater i think i have almost all the components to do it ...if you wish ....i was going to remove what little was done to it but you can make that call for yourself . . .if i had forgotten to mention anything please ask away! . . . . .NOW FOR THE "LEGAL STUFF". . . . .
