1989 Honda CR

Up for sale today I have a 1989 Cr 125. This bike is ridiculously fun! I'm a downhill mountain bike racer and bought the bike to use as cross training, It is my first bike ever and still has more power than I could ever need! Unfortunately I am moving for the winter and reluctantly I am forced to sell her. I got the bike in running condition but it needed work. There was no rear brake, the front wheel and tire were toasted, shifter was bent, the gas tank need painting, and the kill switch was broken. Work I did--new front wheel and tire-new shifter-put on a rear brake and bled both systems-touched up the gas tank-brand new kill switch(I will include all old parts as many are still good. Those include xtra front wheel, tire, shifter, kill switch, and rear brake parts)-Also the person before me put on an after market fmf pipe.Cosmetically-It looks just as you would expect a 22 year old bike that still runs well to look. It's not show room quality by any means but its not beat to crap. The only two notable things are a small rip in the seat and a small dent in the aftermarket pipe. Dent is at most the width of 3 quarters. Mechanically-This is my first bike so I can't compare the power to other bikes but I feel as though it has more than enough power! Has a killer power band, but just barely not enough to throw you off the bike. It runs fine and shift through all the gears with no qualms. The only things to note at all are that it probably needs a carburetor cleaning as when it's cold it's very hard to kick start but as soon as she warms up she starts fine. Also right when you start it up if you give it some gas It smokes but I believe that its just from the oil from the gas mix that settled to the bottom getting burned off, once she warms up there is no smoke. Otherwise this bike runs like a top. Brakes are absolutely amazing and if not too easy to skid. The tires are also in amazing shape! Bottom Line-This is a bike from 1989, it's not new, it's not immaculate, but it's a quality strong dependable bike that has many long years left. If you haven't noticed it's hard to find bikes of this age still running, this bike can hold it's own with new bikes no problem and with a small amount of work you can get it back to like new condition! I will work with you to help coordinate shipping or pickup and make it as easy as possible for you but I own a Subaru and have no access to a truck so I can't do much in the way of delivery unfortunately.
