Vehicle Detail

Up for auction is a beautiful 1970 Dodge Challenger R/ T 383 Original equipped car, 727 Torque flite Trans with the original 8 3/4 Posi rear. I have had this car in storage for many years, I purchased it from the 2nd owner who has since passed. The color is factory Plum Crazy Purple with black interior, however it was a FE5 Red car with a black Boars Grain vinyl top. It was changed by one of the 1st two owners, it does show the original FE5 Red underneath the carpet trunk area. It has the original fender tag, along with all the original factory codes. The car was restored in late 1980's by the staff at Eastern Vocational Tech school here in Baltimore. The car was ordered by the original owner while he was overseas in the Vietnam War, was built on December 23, 1969 and delivered to Jones Dodge on Harford Road here in Baltimore, Maryland. It quite possibly could have been one of the last R/T`s to be produced given that the Hamtramck Dodge Main Plant would shut down for Christmas and New Years Holiday ! The car has never ben titled out of state, is very clean and retains most of its original metal. The car has a warranty block 383 from Jones (NO VIN ON THE RAIL), typical for replacement blocks from dealers back then. I was told that the original owner took the car in for service, an one of the shop boys ran the car without oil after changing the filter. The 383 runs great, does not smoke at all, has the original "chop" to it and needless to say smokes the tires effortlessly. The car shifts hard and is very tight, everything in it still works from the last time I drove it. I think the rear gears are 3:70 if im not mistaken. Car still looks great, runs and drives like new. Needless to say it stops traffic with its looks, the Plum Crazy really stands out ! It is a very nice car that will bring joy to whomever the next owner might possibly be. Below are listed the options from the fender tag. Also, I have the original titles of the owners since delivery took place, original license tag (MARYLAND 1970) and keys, however I don`t have a build sheet.
