Vehicle Detail
1949 Ford F-1 Pickup Truck. This is a true Barn Find. This truck has been sitting in storage in Georgia for years. I do not know how many years. The truck was painted and pin stripped sometime in the 1970s, I think. The pin stripping on the bed and hood appears to be 1970s vintage. After the paint job, it was driven for a while and then stored away. I do not know the reason it was put away. Anyway, it was recently removed from storage. I replaced the Fuel Pump, Master Cylinder and had the Starter rebuilt. The Truck starts, idles and runs off the tank. It has brakes and can be driven. The Clutch s not engaging correctly. I think there is rust on the Flywheel and Pressure Plate, from sitting. I think it will straighten out with a little more driving. I like driving it, so I will be trying to help fix this! This truck is very solid. The Cab is very solid and rust free. The Dashboard is nice and solid, but there is no radio or radio delete plate. There is a Factory Heater. The Seat is in fair condition, but could use a cover. The Glass is all good, but the Driver's Wing Window comes off. It must need a bracket or screw or something. The Doors are very solid and I am posting a picture of the underside of each door to illustrate just how good they are. The Doors open and close and latch very well. The Cab Corners are very nice and rust free. I am also posting a good picture of each of them. This truck had a thick layer of dust, from being in storage. I washed it off, for the pictures, so it is wet and has some water on it, in the pictures. You can see this in the Cab Corner pictures. The Cab Floor has some rust, mainly surface rust, but a few pin holes. The Running Boards are good. The Front Fenders are good. The Front Fenders are pretty solid around the seams, but have some rust around the bottom edge, where they meet the Running Board and may have some patches. The Hood is solid. The Rear Fenders are pretty good. They also have a little rust, where they meet the Running Boards. The Bed Sides are pretty solid. The Tail Gate is pretty good, but does have some rust. The Tail Gate Chains are good and work correctly. The Bed has a sheet of Steel Welded in the Floor. The Paint on the truck is weak and doesn't all match, but the body is nice and is probably hurt by the condition of the paint. The Engine is a Flat Head 6 Cylinder and the truck has a 3 speed Transmission. The Engine starts easily and runs well and has exhaust all the way out. The exhaust system appears to be newer and is good and quiet. The truck has a set of 16" wheels and old tires. I do not have a full set of Hub Caps for the truck. I put the 2 that I have on the side I was taking pictures of. It looks better with Hub Caps on it! The tires are old and are not safe for road use. This truck runs, drives and stops. With a little tinkering and a set of tires, it could be a daily driver. It cannot be driven home. The tires are not good enough and it hasn't been on the road enough to be driven any distance. I may be able to assist with delivery, for a fee, within a few hundred miles of Canton, Ohio. I am posting good pictures and tried to give a good description of the truck. I will try to answer any questions through email. This truck sells without reserve to the highest bidder.
