I have listed this nicely customized 1960 El Camino for a friend who has cherished it for over three decades! Most of the customization/restoration work was done over the past five years. And those gold "jet in flight" castings on the side are indeed plated in GENUINE GOLD! A 454 cid Chevy engine powers this beautiful El Camino with authority! The GM 700R4 automatic transmission makes this a very civilized classic that can easily be driven and enjoyed by anyone in the family. It's fully air-conditioned too! Clever electric door opener buttons are placed near the door and UNDER the cover for the rear bed...a simple push unlocks the door. Nice fabric upholstry, door panels and headliner. A nicely made vinyl curtain behind the seats conceals the jack and other tools, etc. The handsomely finished bed has a door which opens and reveals the spare tire. 1960 was only the second year that the famed El Camino was produced...after 1960, there was NO El Camino until 1964. These early El Caminos are among the most prized classic Chevys of the 1960s. This El Camino is a joy to drive, and the 454 speaks with authority. It will surely be a "hit" at local car shows and cruise nights. Note that the undercarriage is very clean and well-finished. In sum, this is a very nicely customized/preserved American classic. It is meant to be driven. enjoyed, and shown. It is NOT a total tear-down/rotisserie restoration - which can easily cost $100,000 - and the buyer should expect a bit of patina from careful, respectful use and age. The vehicle functions well and has been enjoyed regularly. The owner believes that everything is functioning well...but repairs/adjustments/improvements are all part of owning a classic vintage automobile.
