Vehicle Detail

Due to unemployment and divorce, I am forced to sell my 1964 Corvette Convertible. This car is not an NCRS car and never will be. THE CAR HAS A REPLACEMENT FRAME FROM A 65-67 CORVETTE (indent for big block). I will describe the car to the best of my ability. I don't want to play games or misrepresent this car as it needs to sell. I encourage anyone interested in this car to view it in person. It's located in the Metro Detroit area(Rochester Hills). Paint and interior match trim tag (Riverside Red, Black Leather). Original VIN on spot welded VIN Tag under dash matches VIN on title. Title NOT salvage or rebuilt. Clear title. The car was originally a 300HP, Manual Trans, A/C, PS, PB, Hard top car(pretty sure). All A/C parts are gone. The car's interior, exterior, suspension and transmission are totally stock. Hard top was painted with the car in 1998. I have all the trim parts for the hard top but it will need a complete restoration(minus paint). No back window or headliner for hard top. When I replaced the engine, I wanted General Motors with power, so I used a GM Performance Parts ZZ383. 425 HP @ 5400 RPM, 449 FT LBS of torque at 4500 RPM. Details on the engine can be found here: http://store.gmperformanceparts.com/store/SelectProd.do?prodId=7651&redir=true&manufacturer=GM&category=Engines&name=ZZ383%20High%20Performance%20Engine%20&model=%3C!--12498772--%3E Car Specs: 1964 Corvette ConvertibleColor: Riverside RedInterior color: Black with Black leather seatsOptions: PS, PB, 4SP. 3.55 rear, hardtop,Suspension: Stock 1964 GMBrakes: Power original DRUM brakes(always wanted to upgrade to disk but the drums worked so well, l never saw a need to spend the money).Exhaust: McJack's D port headers ( http://www.vetteheaders.com/servlet/Detail?no=5) into reproduction N11 off-road with 2.5" pipes.Cooling system: Stock cooling system - Engine runs cool and never overheats with stock system.Tires: Radials P21575R15 White Wall - Were on car when purchased. Good tread and still look good but are at least 13 years old. Wheels: Reproduction BOLT ON Knock Off's purchased from Virginia Vettes 4 years ago.Transmission: Stock Muncie 4SP. I think it's the original 4sp to the car but I cannot be sure. I'm pretty sure it's close ratio. Engine: GM Performance Parts ZZ383. Engine Specs:- GM Performance Parts ZZ383- Wieand #8121 Vortech Manifold- Holley Avenger 770 Street carburetor - part #:0-81770- Stock 1966 Corvette Air Cleaner setup(only setup I found to fit under a small block hood)- Mallory MAA – 4265411 –Distributor, Comp S/ S 42 Series, Mechanical/ Vacuum, Steel Gear, Tach Drive, Corvette, Big/ Small Block + Coil, Power filter and Resistor.- Flywheel - GM Performance Parts Flywheels - NAL-14088646 Nodular Iron, 153-Tooth, 16 lb., External Engine Balance, Chevy, Small Block.- Only billet and high quality parts used in the engine bay. Car History: The car was frame-off restored and completed in 1998. I purchased the car in 1999 at RM Classic Car Auction in Novi Michigan for $30,000. I've been replacing and fixing things over the years. I've spent over $15,000 fixing and replacing things over the 12 years I've owned the car. New top, brakes, exhaust, engine, clutch, ignition are major things. Many other small things also replaced or fixed. Car was driven less than 1000 miles a year and has never seen rain. I completed the engine replacement at the end of 2009. I drove the car about 10 times(200 miles), separated from my wife, moved to Florida and the car has been sitting in my garage in Michigan ever since. Car is still started and driven every few months by my neighbor. My wife has a clear, signed title in her possession with the car. Condition/rating: Paint and body: 9/10.Paint and body is what sold the car for me. Car was painted around 1998(base, clear coat) and still looks outstanding today. No hit body without repairs. Very minor chips and scratches from 14 years. Headlights go up and down fine but not at the same speed. After 12 years owning this car, it's still one of the nicest looking 64's I've ever seen. Interior: 8/10Interior is stock. Leather seats are in great condition with no tears or scratches. Carpet would rate an 8 also. Radio and all gauges work including clock. The interior was basically new when I purchased the car in 1998. New door panels, carpet, seats and anything else they required to restore the car. Only wear would be my light use over 12 years. Suspension/Steering: 9/10Suspension and steering are stock. I've never had to touch the suspension. I replaced the steering rag joint after purchase to tighten steering. Car drives straight, tight steering with no vibrations. Engine: 10/10Engine had 2500 miles when purchased from a mechanic friend of mine. It was street driven 1 summer in a 63' Impala. When the Impala owner upgraded to big block, I was able to purchase the ZZ383 long block for $4500. The engine has less than 3000 miles currently. Engine has only run synthetic oil since new, runs smooth and is a beast. Best upgrade I've ever done. What does not work\problems: - Wipers. I replaced the wiper motor with a new refurbished unit but never got around to hooking up the wipers. The motor will turn on and off with the dash switch but the mechanism is not hooked up under the dash. I have all the parts in a zip-lock. - Emergency brake. When I had the brakes done, the shop somehow broke my emergency brake. They told me I needed some bracket at the wheel. - Speedometer reads about 10% too slow.Never got around to changing the small gear to fix this. - Slight bog off idle when gas is mashed I just bolted on the new carb and adjusted to the highest vacuum. Never got around to figuring out the slight bog when gas is mashed off idle. - Frame - Car has a frame from a 65-67 Corvette.. I have described this car to the best of my ability. This is a beautiful car that I hate to part with but I am forced to sell. I encourage anyone interested in this car to see it in person. The car speaks for itself. I have set a reserve of $30,000 as this is my highest cash offer. I don't want to play games. I can be reached at 248-701-5369 or pratt_ted@yahoo.com with any questions. Thank you for viewing my auction. Terms: Deposit of US $1000 within 48 hours of auction close into my Paypal account. Full cash payment in person required within 7 days of close.
