Vehicle Detail
This truck is in better-than-good condition and receives complements everywhere we go. I bought it from a local dealer (who is also my neighbor) almost seven years ago with 60,575 miles on the clock. It was purchased new from my nearest Toyota dealer. I have added five factory alloy wheels (with typical "curb rash") and mounted Michelin 31X10.50X15 tires that I have rotated in five-tire fashion. I had the bed Rhino-Lined and fitted with a Leer hard tonneau. I added a K&N filter (CARB approved) and a complete ceramic-coated stainless steel exhaust, beginning with an LC Engineering header and ending with a complete Magnaflow system, including a new catalytic converter, muffler, tip, and hangers. I also added a 2" box hitch with a flat four-pole connector. Within the last 25,000 miles I have replaced the A/C evaporator, radiator, water pump, and head gasket (including head decking and valve seal replacement). It has received regular better-than-recommended service with synthetic lubricants where available. The truck is optimally equipped with the legendary 22-RE motor, 5-speed manual transmission, and manually locking hubs. The powertrain works beautifully. The truck is garaged both at home and at work. Since I added the Magnaflow system I can actually hear the Pioneer stereo/CD player and four-speaker system I installed. I didn't go overboard on the sound system because these trucks are not known for their quiet ride. I have all service records since I purchased it. This is an eighteen-year-old truck, so it is not pristine. There are two "rust bubbles" on the front of the hood that I have included in the pictures. There are two dings in the front lower valance that are also visible in the pictures. I happened to be out driving one day while one of the locals was mowing his gravel driveway (?) so there is a ding in the driver-side door that is also pictured. There is a small hole in the upholstery on the driver's seat that is also pictured. It passed Maryland inspection in August. It will need new pads and rotors in 10,000 miles or so --- I can feel warping in the right front rotor --- but it stops quickly and straight. This truck is ideal for a number of uses, including (a) a first vehicle for a new driver; (b) a rock-crawler project; (c) an "extra" vehicle to ensure that you can get to work with two feet of snow on the road; or (d) a daily driver that gets 22+ mpg on regular unleaded. I bought it when my older son got his license because the price was right, and because I had previously owned an identically equipped 1993 that I traded for a 2000 Tundra. I still own the Tundra, but I always regretted parting with the 1993, so when the opportunity arose I jumped on it, already knowing what I needed to do to make this truck all that it could be. My son ended up driving the Tundra, and I ended up driving this Toy. He's about to graduate from college and buy his own vehicle, so I get the Tundra back. I have done my best to describe (and photograph) this vehicle honestly, warts and all. I will deliver within 50 miles, which includes both PHL and BWI. Fly in and drive it home. Otherwise I will be happy to coordinate with the shipper of your choice, but shipping is the buyer's responsibility.
