I have owned and driven this FJ 40 in Seattle since May 1992 (it was used and I may be the 3rd owner) and have complete service records since that time. I would assume mileage is about 160,000. *4- speed transmission on the floor (some models had 3-speed). *Much original to this FJ 40--interior black and all knobs, console, etc intact, padded roll bar. *Driver and passenger seats tattered and covered with sheepskin removable covers--rear jump seats in fine condition as are all seat belts. *4 x 4 locking hubs work fine; 4 wheel works fine. *Work includes re-wiring (1994), head gasket replacement (1996), valve grind (1994), new clutch (2001), brake system work (1994), new fuel tank (1992), fuel pump (1996). *4 new tires June 2006.*Back radiator removed but available repair and to re-install. *Rust in the usual places--see photos--some delamination under back door, right side. There is surface rust on the decks, some rust in door frames.*right front fender is bent and patched.*there is a scrape back of right side. *decals--apparently some dealers put these decals on these rigs in 1978 to make them look "sporty-er."*interior roof fabric needs re-gluing.*I include roof racks for kayak or racing scull or boat and include a bikini top for it (had the roof off most summers in the first 10 years). I also have some new door gaskets ready for installation.
