Very cool vintage cb550 that was taken down to the frame two winters ago and rebuilt. Frame was repainted, along with the tank and side covers. Many new parts including a rebuild of the motor and transmission. All metal on the bike is original to it. There are some small nics and dings but it is a very good looking bike. There are however things the bike needs. The front brake is not functional. It received a new caliper and pads at the time of rebuild but there is a leak in the line. The original seat has some rips in the seat cover. I was going to go with a cafe racer style seat but have lost interest in the bike. The gas tank has some surface rust on the inside of the tank. It should have been cleaned and coated when off the bike but wasn't. Because of this the fuel filters are frequently clogged and the carbs need cleaning. The amount of rust inside the tank it extremely small and just on the surface but it is enough to cause a problem. After a good carb cleaning and new fuel filters I drove the bike for a couple of hundred miles but it then did the same thing. As it sits it needs fuel filters and the carbs cleaned again. I really have no interest in the bike and really do not want to mess with it any longer. The motor has great compression and runs awesome with a fresh cleaning. Tires have good tread but there is some weather checking. It's a very fun bike that would be very easy to do a complete cafe look to without much effort or time but will ride and run great as is once the issues are taken care of.
