Vehicle Detail
For Sale is a 2005 Mazda RX8 with 6 Speed Manual Transmission & Unique Rotary Engine The car is beautiful and a real head turner. The sound of the engine alone will make heads turn if you want them to. It's a very sexy car and at the same time it's the best sports car I can find out there if you have kids. The back seats have a lot more room than any other sports car I've seen and because of the suicide doors it is very easy for backseat passengers to enter and exit the vehicle. It has front, side, and roof air bags and generally feels more solid and safer than a lot of other cars out there. RX8's are famous for their rotary engine and this car is very unique. Manual 6 speed has a lot more horse power than the automatic because of the ability to start redlining at 9,000 RPMs but able to push until 10,000. It has been said with these engines it is good to redline it often and rotary engines will go further in miles than typical engines. Steering wheel radio control/ cruise control. Radio has option for SAT radio if you purchase the receiver (it is about $100) I already have the adapter and will give it to you. The car has no problems at all but I have to get rid of it to move over seas on short notice. My wife tends to drive the car more than myself the past year since selling her 08 Mercedes CLS 650 AMG for an SUV and she says it is more fun to drive (and I strongly agree) both her. We both drove the car safely and rarely ever did I push it's limits. Usually my 5 year old was a passenger, but she never allowed to eat in the vehicle and was never disrespectful to the car. Ive never raced it or driven it hard, but it you wanted to you could defiantly blow the doors off almost anyone if you can drive it right. The car is mechanically perfect and has been taken care of with all maintenance. It does need new front tires and has a small crack in the passenger dash (shown in the pictures) from the sun which outlines the airbag deployment. This is not a danger to the airbag coming out, nor will it prematurely make it come out. It's a common issue for some reason with the RX8 and it is a cosmetic flaw with the design. It appears to be more common in areas with higher heat, like here in Florida. My best friend has the same thing on his RX8 that is 1 year older than mine. The interior is in excellent condition with no stains in the carpeting, seats, or headliner, etc. I put a K&N air filter in it about 8 months ago and a brand new battery a month ago. Regular oil changes and dealership scheduled maintenance was always preformed on time. Clutch is in spectacular shape. Car has been garaged since my ownership and the pictures weren't taken where it is normally parked. (I took them at a family member's home during Thanksgiving.) This is a beautiful car and whether it's your first car or not, you're gonna love it. When I return from overseas I intend on buying another one new. This body style is not intended to change still for several years, so even though it is a few years old b/c it is in such great shape nobody could tell it wasn't a 2012 unless they are an RX8 fanatic (there are lots out there) Out of all the cars I have owned over the years this has been the most fun to drive. Including my wife's previous 08 Mercedes CLS 650 AMG, 2 Mustangs and a Formula Firebird. The car was in an accident with the owner prior to my purchase. I have had the vehicle inspected twice this week. You would never be able to tell and the car still drives like new. Once at a good local dealer, and at Carmax. Both said the car is great, but were low-balling their offers because I was not purchasing another vehicle. I am asking $8,000 for the car, the blue book on the car is around $9,800. I'm putting a reserve lower than $8k for my own safety but I want to sell this great car at a great price. I'm not picky and am not asking the full kbb value, simply asking a fair price to benefit both buyer and seller for a quicker transaction. If I've missed anything, or if you just want to know more, email me and we can talk on the phone about the car. I don't mind if you want to personally come get the car or have it shipped but I will leave it to you to pick the cheapest way to ship. Vehicle will be located in Ocala, FL (Approximately 100 miles north of Orlando) Would consider meeting if within reasonable distance. I will not accept paypal due to lockouts from large purchases and fees, and I prefer cash, cashiers check or other secure payment form that will not hang the transfer up, i.e. personal checks that take 14 days to clear. This would make an excellent Christmas present to any driver!!! You would be ecstatic with this vehicle's capability, reliability, safety, and price! On Nov-29-11 at 09:06:26 PST, seller added the following information: Update: 11/29/11Front tires have been replacedprice reduced to $7,500 and reserve lowered respectively
