So it is good to actually talk to the guy that did all the work before one tries to sell one's car. I bought the "Blue Beast" from a friend of mine this last February. He and his father owned it since 1985, about 8 years ago he bought a NEW factory 6.5 Liter Diesel Engine and added the Banks Turbo System, he also put in a new automatic transmission at that time (Guy who did work reminded me of this yesterday). They did sell it to one of their friends in Oregon but he left it in storage most of it's time in Oregon. Then my friend and mechanic drove it back here 3 years ago, and once again it was in storage for a while. I bought it in January of this year, but didn't take delivery of it until a bit ago. It needed quite a few things (all listed below), and it took a while to complete. I am many things but I am not a mechanic, this is a truck for someone who likes to tinker, and who can tinker, and I am just not that person. Thus, with some family health issues arising that are beyond my control I need to sell the "Blue Beast". So keep in mind you are getting a 6.5 Liter Diesel Engine with a Banks Turbo System that only has 80,000 miles on it! Also keep in mind the vehicle has been in storage (DRY!!) for most of the last 15 years or so, you really cannot get a better deal than this. Since I bought it has had: - All 5 window motors replaced along with window tracks, and rubber seals. All windows now work along w/main controls. - Two new batteries - New tires (tires are worth $1200.00) - New alternator - New wiring through-out most of engine - New Dash - New Radio, connectable to ipod - New windshield wiper motor - New Blower Motor for air and heat - New wiring behind dash - New Glow Plugs and Push button for Glow Plugs installed on dash. - New Hoses, belts, ect......., over the last 3 years. - New Power Steering Pump - Engine tuned up (mechanic says engine is worth $4000) - My mechanic found a wire that was loose and that got air and heat running again. - New Speakers in doors and in dash. Automatic transmission works well, 4x4 works and was used to drive through snow two winters ago by original owner. It needs a paint job and has some minor surface rust in about 8 places. The interior is very clean for the age but is obviously not a show car. Drove it with all 5 windows down for about an hour yesterday, just puttering around town and she drove well. This morning I took her down to the local gas station and capped off the diesel and had all of her fluids checked out and the guy said everything looked clean and he was happy with it. So I puttered around town a bit more with the girls bouncing around and hanging their heads out the windows and now she is home parked. All in all as far as I know she seems pretty reliable. (about two weeks ago) Drove her around town after mechanic found loose wire and heat, defrost, air all seem to run quite well and put out a ton of air!
