This car is listed with NO RESERVE. This is my rare 1995 BMW 540i SPORT 6-speed sedan. This car has the 4.0L V8, 6-speed manual transmission, leather seats, moonroof, A/C, ABS brakes, dual airbags, cruise control etc. It runs and drives great, and looks very nice. The paint and body are in beautiful condition with no significant dings or dents and NO RUST. The paint appears to be original. NO ACCIDENTS. I've installed 17" repro M-Contour wheels made by Tire Rack that are the proper width for this car. This car is a 300HP rocket ship. The ECU (engine computer) was reprogrammed by Turner Motorsport for increased horsepower and torque. It has incredible power, handling and brakes. There are 60,000 miles on a brand-new Alusil BMW factory motor installed at 99,000 miles. The total miles on the body are 159,000. This is a great car in excellent condition. This was a California car until last year (I still have the old CA plates) so there isn't any rust anywhere. There are minor issues just like you'd expect for any 16-year old car- there is a small piece missing out of the rear bumper, the coolant temp guage always registers cold (the coolant temp itself is fine) and the cover over the passenger airbag is warped from the CA sun (airbag has never been deployed). The cruise control doesn't appear to work and the rear power windows are finicky. It's a great car, I would not hesitate to drive it cross-country tomorrow. Since the car came from California it has never been exposed to salt or snow. No rust. The paint is all-original and it isn't oxidized, nor are there any dings or dents of any significance on the body. The body is clean and very straight throughout- no accidents, ever. The wheels are in very good shape, not dinged or corroded- there are a few light scratches around the outside rims, but they are very good overall. The tires are matching and have excellent tread all around. The car drives great- the clutch takes up smoothly and the transmission shifts perfectly through all the gears. The engine is smooth and powerful from idle to redline. The handling is tight and stable, and there are no clunks in the suspension over bumps or on rough road. Under the hood is very clean, and the car doesn't leak or drip any fluids. The sunroof works great. It has never been smoked in. The interior is exceptional- the leather and seating surfaces are beautiful, and the carpets are clean and nice. The brakes are powerful and they stop very well; there is some pulsing from the rear brakes under light braking, this disappears under heavier braking- meaning the rotors could probably stand to be turned. The cruise control does not appear to work though I haven't yet checked the fuse for it. The check engine light is on, but the engine runs perfectly- smooth, powerful and with no hesitation or rough-running, ever. It pulls like nothing else, with low-end torque as well as high-rpm power. It is probably one of the best-condition E34 540i 6-speeds you will find anywhere.On Nov-14-11 at 16:31:22 PST, seller added the following information:This car (540i 6-speed) was only produced for 1995, and only 1524 of them were made for North America.
