Vehicle Detail
1937 Buick Special 2 door businessman's coupe This is an older restoration. Dark green paint that is good for a driver, but will need to be redone for a show car. Very solid car with no rust issues. Original straight 8 (248 cu in) that was just rebuilt: new main bearings, honed with new piston rings. Valves reground. Rod bearings were OK so they were reused, as well as the cam bearings. All new gaskets. Has zero miles and about 30 minutes of run time on it. Mechanically sound, starts great and runs. Good brakes. Instruments work with the exception of the fuel gauge. Aftermarket temp gauge installed. Lights work, as well as the turn signals. Rebuilt starter and generator. Interior was redone a while back and still is very nice. Black and white vinyl on the seats, with black door panels. Carpet is nice. Trunk was redone recently. Dynamat type insulation on the floors. Tires are good; wheels appear to have been powder coated in gray. Car has new tinted glass all around. Radiator just serviced (rodded) Clear Arizona title. Odometer shows 2395; I am assuming it is 102395? 3 speed on the floor 6 volt system with 8 volt battery There are a few items that still need attention (steering wheel, glove box lock) Please read description carefully and feel free to ask questions if something isn't clear. Car is sold AS IS where is with no warranties given or implied. Buyer is responsible for making all shipping arrangements, at buyers cost. I will assist with pick up and loading if necessary. Inspection prior to bidding is encouraged; contact me to make arrangements. $750 deposit by PayPal, balance by wire transfer or other approved funds. _gsrx_vers_454 (GS 6.3 (454)) On Nov-15-11 at 13:54:37 PST, seller added the following information: I have received several e mails asking about any problem areas with the car. The following should answer the questions: I had 2 potential bidders come over to inspect the car today, and here is what was found: fuel gauge (as I mentioned in my listing) doesn't work. Amp gauge is 'funny', because the car has a 8 volt battery (but it does work). Steering wheel has a solid core, but will need attention. Small rip in headliner (I think one of the photos shows that)next to the dome light. Original water temp gauge is shot, but the car has an aftermarket one that works great. The engine has basically zero hours on it, so it will need to be broken in. Starts good and runs good. I thought the windshield wipers didn't work, but they do. We found a loose vacuum line that fixed the problem. all of the lights, turn signal and brakes are good and work as they should. Speedometer and odometer work well. Transmission shifts well with no issues. Tires are good. There is no spare tire. I thought I had it, but can't find it now, so assume there isn't one. On Nov-16-11 at 19:32:29 PST, seller added the following information: Possibly my last update before the auction ends: I forgot to mention that all of the glass, including the windsield, is tinted glass. Cost a bit more, but looks great, especially on the dark green car. Also. a bit cooler in the summer Arizona heat. Also, I just replaced the 8 volt battery with a 6 volt. Too many people had problems with the ammeter not working as it should....so, now it is back to stock and the gauge works great. Thanks to everybody for their bids....but now that the bidding reached my reserve, please keep on bidding. The car will sell....
