Vehicle Detail

RESERVE REDUCED --- MUST SELL!!! I am relisting my gorgeus MG Midget at this time. I have reduced the price, but please keep in mind .. I am not giving the car away! It's an awesome little classic worth far more than I'm listing it at. Take a good look, ask questions! Think how great you'd look driving this beauty! The vehicle has a clear State of Florida Title which shows it as being a 1964. However, as with many cars of this age, that was the year the car was actually first sold not the year of manufacture/model. I have a Certificate of Origin from British Motor Heritage which states that the vehicle is actually a 1963. This can be changed on the actual title though I will let the buyer make that change. I have no idea what the actual true mileage is for the vehicle. As far as I know all numbers match (vehicle, engine, etc). The car is a real gem as shown in the photos. I have owned it for the past five years and it has been garaged that entire time except, of course, when I've had the pleasure of driving it! The body is a medium gray with very heavy metal-flake. The stripes are a lighter gray and are also very heavily metal-flaked. When I purchased it, there was no top, no top frame or other necessary hardware. I have since located a frame and the two bars that are needed for the top. In addition, I purchased a brand new, beautiful custom canvas top. The top has never been used and is still in its original packaging! This particular model Midget was only made for approximately 18 months after which a major change in the top was made. This model does not have the standard expected interior clamps on the front windshield which clamp to the convertible top to hold it in place. Instead, there is a narrow, flat bar that slides into a pocket at the back as well as one that slides in a pocket at the front (unlike newer models). The one at the back slides under the chrome grommets just in front of the trunk. The front bar then folds over the top of the windshield frame and into a groove at the bottom side of the top edge of the frame! Have I lost you yet?? lol Anyway, once that bar is inserted in the windshield frame, the top then snaps into place in two spots, one snap on each upper outer edge of the windshield. Very unique!! The prior owner of the car made a major mistake when doing some work on the car. This particular model does not have roll-up windows. It uses the side curtains which mount onto the doors and are removed when not being used. Not knowing this, the prior owner installed a driver's door bullet mirror on the car, which of course blocks the use of the side curtain for that door. I purchased the chrome fender mirrors (right and left side) for the car. The bullet mirror needs to be removed (and the hole plugged) and the fender mirrors need to be mounted. I have new, never used side curtains for both doors as well as the storage bag for them. Also, an attempt at re-carpeting the car was made prior to my purchasing it. Though it looks decent, the carpet installed is not the correct carpet for the car. I have an entire new carpet kit for the car, which also is still in its original packaging. This is the carpet with the snaps in place, the proper edging and correctly sized and cut specifically for this car. I have installed an "oogah" air horn under the hood as well as a cigarette lighter (which is located behind the dash, out of sight). Though not a smoker, I like to be able to plug in my cell phone if necessary! I have shown the car several times so have done as much as possible to bring it to life by adding the special chrome pieces that make it unique (like the chrome and glass fuel filter). I brought the car to Florida from Las Vegas and though the car has lived in Florida for the past five plus years, it has no rust. The body is intact. No rips or tears in the seating or dash. All the new parts that have been purchased will go with the car. This is a great little car ... a lot of fun to drive and to show.
