Vehicle Detail

Hello ebayer's, listed again due to a flakey buyer and some other guy trying to scam me. Up for sale is my 1963 Mercedes Benz 220b Heckflosse fintail sedan automatic transmission. 177K original miles and 5K on the rebuild. This is a truly a beautiful driver and I truly regret to have to sell her, but its time for us to part ways. The car is in excellent shape and needs only cosmetic or vanity fixes which are mostly weekend warrior kinds of fixes for the most part. The body is very straight, the interior is in remarkable shape and the engine is as good as new. This is a true 100% California car with original black plates. I am the 3rd owner and have the cars life story. The car has been in Southern California all its life except the last two years I had it here in San Francisco. For the most part I'll let the pictures do the talking and answer any questions prospective buyers might have. The car is very straight and besides a few small touch up spots from the original owners the car needs only one small rust issue to be addresses ( see photos )I have owned the car for over 4 years and have loved her tremendously. I have put more than 6K into her over that time. for which I have lots of receipts. Here's a short list of recent work done over the last 2.5 years. Car has been serviced by Sal's Autohaus here in San Francisco for the last 2 years. Please yelp him! -rebuilt engine from the bottom up and yes that includes everything. All bearing/pistons/valves/chains/guides, you name it it was replaced.-New rebuilt radiator-new motor mounts-new fuel pump-new battery-rebuilt generator-rebuilt break master cylinder-new steering coupler (no play in the steering wheel)-new cd/ipod player in dash with new under dash speakers for those long drives.-lots more... This car runs like a dream and I have put over 5K on her since the rebuild, mostly just weekend runs to napa and down the coast to Big Sur. I have driven the car to San Diego and seattle and have never had an issue. This is a driver and the interior is basically perfect as well as the drive train. See photos! On my list of to-do's for the car.-clock doesn't work ( ebay item $80 )-small leak in the heater core behind the dash ( my mechanic said not a serious issue ) can solder it when I remove the dash to fix everything listed here at once. For now the heater core is bypassed-original temp gauge doesn't work ( how ever I installed and auxiliary gauge under the dash ). See photos ( new part available from the classic center $400 )-gear selector indicator doesn't work, but the car changes gears easily. Broken linkage most likely a garage fix once you dig into the dash -one noticeable crack in the dash that showed up a month ago. See photos I have a source in Ventura for a new dash $400-rust spot in the drivers side lower rear fender. The previous owner did not clear out the drain hole so there was some water that caused the issue. See photos.-original power antenna does not work, but he after market head unit I installed in the glove box does the trick. See photos. Classic center part $300-new break shoes with in the next 5k miles $240 parts-New tires within the next 5k miles $250-I'd like to get the A/C working but need a condenser and have it all hooked up.-chrome on the rear bumper needs to be redone on the passenger side. See photo-There is a minor etch in the windshield from previous owner running wipers with a bad blade. My glass guy said it could be buffed out. All lights, switches, buttons, windows, signals, horn, radio, seats, latches, work perfectly. I hate to have to sell this car, but I'll be moving again soon and just have the room for the car. The car can be shipped at your cost. Bid with confidence. Please contact me with any questions you might have! Also a link to more photos and a few short videos videos are available. Happy bidding!! I'll have a short vid and more pictures available via email link if you'd like. -
