Vehicle Detail
1966 Chevy C-10 “deluxe” Long bed This is in NO way a show truck. I did most of the body work myself and it's solid but don't expect perfection. Definitely a cool truck anyway.Truck starts right up every time and drives just fine. Has a few minor issues but is otherwise a solid driver. This is the “big window” model. Below are the particulars:Driveline: · Original 283 C.I. V8 runs great. · Replaced original exhaust manifolds with Jegs headers. · Replaced complete exhaust system. True dual exhaust all the way from headers to tail pipes out the side rear. · Replaced leaky valve cover gaskets with new. No leaks now. · Original PowerGlide 2-speed automatic shifts solid. Leaks a little fluid. Seems to be from around kick-down cable. Other Stuff: · New battery starts every time and holds charge fine. · Complete electrical system replacement including replacing generator with modern alternator. · All lights work perfectly including turn signals, markers, brakes, license plate, dimmer switch and dome light. Windshield wipers work too, although switch is a little worn and could be replaced. · Replaced door window seals so no rattles. · Repaired all typical rust spots including floors, cab corners and rocker panels. If there is any rust remaining, it would be minimal and I honestly don’t believe there is any. · Replaced all side molding. New molding is not as substantial as original and has collected some dings. Just the molding, not the body. · I did the body work and painting myself in 2008-2009 and while it’s all solid and looks really cool, it’s not a show truck by any means. In all honesty, the truck looks better in pictures than in person but it’s still cool. You’ll see lots of imperfections when you get close but if it were perfect, it’d be a whole lot more money. · Has 4 new steel rally wheels and new “36 Chevy” caps. Tires are in good shape and have been “ground” to reveal the wide whites. · Original seat was repaired and fully re-covered. Exterior paint was color matched to upholstery on seat. · All original wood in bed replaced · New lap belts. · Steering wheel restored. · New rubber floor mat covers whole cab floor. · New turn-signal switch. · New starter switch. · New rocker panel chrome trim (Chevy bow-tie) · New shocks. · New heater levers/knobs. · New door handles, window knobs. Have new armrest but haven’t put it on yet. Stuff that needs attention: · Brakes work but grab hard on one side. Need to have adjusted. · Emergency brake isn’t connected. E-brake handle/lever works and some cables are under truck but are disconnected. · Driver side door strap isn’t attached and there’s a dent in the door where it swung out too far. · Heater hasn’t been hooked up. I just haven’t gotten that far. I did replace all the levers and made sure that they all move their respective cables. The heater box seems to be solid under the hood but I haven’t opened it up yet. Heat does drift from the heater inlet while driving for what it’s worth. · I didn’t even try to beat out the dents in the bed and wheel wells. Just primed and painted them. · Transmission leak needs to be addressed. Transmission works fine with no slipping but leaks some. Most of it seems to be coming from around the kickdown cable and transmission shop says that’d be fixable for under $100. Could be some from other places too. · Previous owner replaced steering box and it interferes with one of the front bumper brackets. It’s not a primary bracket and you can’t tell from the look of it. Just wanted to point it out. · Most of the gauges aren’t working. Speedometer works but the needle kind-of ”bounces”. Fuel gauge, temp, volts not working. Something that I just haven’t gotten to yet. · A few bumps and scuffs from being in my garage. One scuff from rubber garage door molding when wife pulled it inLI I feel like honesty is the best policy and don't want any surprises.Truck is fun to drive and gets lots of looks and compliments.Buyer responsible for arranging any shipping. Please feel free to pickup locally. If hiring a shipping company, we will need to coordinate the pickup. Here's a video that a local artist did that includes the truck driving so you can see it a little better.http://vimeo.com/25263679
