Up for sale is my 1957 Chevrolet Bel Air two door hardtop project. Please read further for more information and take a look at all of the pictures on my photobucket link below. This is a true southern car and has been well preserved over the years. This is a good solid foundation for your next build, you can take the restoration in any direction you want. Overall the body on this car is very solid, with no through rust in the firewall or cowl, roof, A pillars, inner and outer wheel wells, fenders and hood. The car retains the original trunk pan and spare tire well, it does have a few small rust holes in it but is still relatively solid. The trunk pan braces are solid. The trunk's weather strip lip and around the front and back glass areas are very solid. The floor is very solid, some of the floor pans have been patched with aftermarket metal repair patches and are just roughed in needing final finishing. All of the floor pan braces are solid, except it will need one rear floor pan brace underneath the rear seat area. The car has had a new inner and outer rocker installed on the passenger side. The quarters in the car are really solid, it has had lower quarter patches installed already. The doors are very solid in this car, the inner structures and outer skins of the doors are in great condition. Both of the front fenders are really nice and free from rust, there is no rust in the headlight eyebrow area, but they both have had lower fender patch panels installed. The inner fenders are very solid. The hood is really solid with no major through rust, the decklid does have a small amount of rust in the inner structure on the driver's side which could be easily fixed and the rest of the decklid is solid. The body has been stripped down to bare metal and has been put into eurethane primer to preserve until the restoration can begin. The car has an original, very rare and highly sought after California frame. The frame has been sandblasted and painted with chassis black. The frame does not have any damage whatsoever, there is no rust in the frame. No one has been cutting or modifying the engine cross member in any way and the frame is straight and true. The rest of the original suspension components are in place and are also free from damage. The car also retains an original rear end and leaf springs. All of the steering components are present and the car rolls and steers easily. I have about 85% of the exterior chrome that goes with the car. I have all the hard to find pieces including the window flappers. I do not have a front or rear bumper or a front grill. There is no glass currently installed in the car, I do have a set of rear quarter glass that goes with the car. I do not have any of the interior for this car, there is an instrument cluster and I do have a few of the interior trim pieces (see photobucket pics). The car's VIN number is VC 57N125746. JT TITLE: Georgia is a non-title state for vehicles older than 1986 & didn't even start issuing titles for new cars at all until 1961. Therefore this 1957 Bel Air is exempt from title here & has no title. However, if you live in a state which requires a vehicle of this year to be titled, I WILL PROVIDE YOU WITH THE PAPERWORK YOU NEED TO GET YOUR TITLE QUICKLY & EASILY. This means the winning bidder will get a T-7 bill of sale, a state VIN inspection certificate & an official letter from the state of GA confirming that this vehicle is exempt from title in this state. This paperwork will allow you to register the vehicle if you live in a non-title state such as Georgia. This paperwork will also automatically transfer into an actual title if you live in a state which requires a title on a vehicle of this year. I know some of you may be thinking that your tag office is hard to deal with & they just will not issue you a title if you don't have a title from the seller. I understand your hesitation but please believe me when I tell you... they have absolutely no choice but to issue you a title on this vehicle. Every County in every State is governed by the rules of the United States Department Of Transportation. The law says that if a vehicle is brought from a non-title state into a title requiring state & there is valid paperwork from the non-title state... the title requiring state MUST issue a clean, clear, title for that vehicle in the new state. It's the law & no matter how hard to deal with your tag office may be, they WILL issue you a title. There are several states which don't require titles on older vehicles.
