Vehicle Detail
hello, i have for sale my dads 1959 cadillac 2 dr coupe,, my dad has owned the car for 35 years , he bought it from a priest back in 1976 and has been the only owner since,, the car was near mint cond back then,,, my dad babied and well maintained the car just from driving on a sunday to church or with my mom on a nice sunny sunday . then about 25 years ago my dad was diagnosed with colon cancer and the car never seen the road again,,i would always go and start it just to keep the fluids running and the battery charged,, the car slowly got neglected and sad to say my now 86 year old dad never was able to use the car anymore due to his fight of his cancer,, thank god he is still here,, he is a world war 2 vet,, i dont think my dad put 5,000 miles on it if that from the time he bought it 35 years ago and up till the last day he last sat in it and drove it,, i then took it to my pole barn to store it and it just sat,, the car ran like a dream even till the last day it was driven..,, it has a very healthy all original matching numbers 390 motor with a perfect shifting trans,, it slowly deteriorated in my barn from sitting,, my own fault,, the last time i had it running was about 7 years ago,, ran and sounded just as strong.. and noticed it leaking radiator fluid from the water pump,, i had a mechanic take the pump off and i bought a brand new one,, then the clown dissapeared on me,, and the car just sat and sat in barn.. will need the waterpump installed,, ect,,, i have all of it,, i was gonna find someone to put it on but at the same time i didnt want them to ruin or do something the car didnt need or i was worried they might steal stuff from it,, so it just sat,,, i went to try to turn it over last week when i rolled it out of the barn., it wont start with the key , the interior lights and radio come on but it wont turn over,, but if u take a screw driver to the solenoid it will turn over no problem... i just wanna prove to anyone that it will turn over with the water pump not on,, so they dont think the motor is froze ,, it ran very very strong when parked,, the motor was fully winterized after the water pump was taken off ,, the car only has 70,000 original miles on it sadly to say but its the honest truth... i was with my dad when he bought it and know when he drove it .. the car still has the same oil in it and trans fluid from the last time driven many years ago,.. and they are right on full,, wasnt about to change the oil and make people think we are tryin to hide something,, we wanted to leave it as original as possible ,, to end the story , the car will need a full restoration,,, it is 100% complete and not missing nothing,, it even has the original jack assembly in the trunk,, if there is a few trim pieces u do not see in the picks i have a few that came off the car in the trunk..the doors still shut and make that closing noise like the day the car was new,,, it will need the floors replaced,, the trunk is very solid with a few areas that will need new metal,, has the original matting that came in the trunk,, it will need new rockers,, the driver door is very solid but the pass door on the bottom will need new metal,, there is alot of surface rust and some holes here and there,, i have seen alot worse than this,,the hood and trunk lid are solid like a rock,, the interior is all original and complete,, the dash pad is cracked up,, it has the original matching numbers 390 motor with the matching factory transmission that has never been modified or altered,, all glass is good, no cracked glass,, have the original skirts that are real good,, have the new water pump with gaskets,, and 2 of the original hub caps,,,, any other trim pieces i have put in the trunk,, again my dad has owned the caddy since 1976 ,,,it will need a full restoration.. and only 70,000 original miles on this bat mobile,, i'm being as honest as i can about the car,, feel free to email me with any questions u may have,, ,, u can also call me if u like,, i will answer anything to the best of my knowledge, on the caddy since my dad had owned it most of its life,,,, i have the clear green title dated back in 1976 when my dad bought the car,, happy bidding on this 59 hard to find complete 2 dr caddy .. my cell is 248-259-7786 my name is joe,,, thank u On Nov-07-11 at 06:06:27 PST, seller added the following information: hello, i keep getting alot of emails about the car,, please know the car will need a (Full Restoration) if thats what your intentions are,, the car has been sitting for a very long time so im sure things will need to be looked at , brakes,, engine hoses,, fluids etc,,, thank u,,, please ask any questions ,, email,, or call my cell.. i just wanna be as truthfull as i can about my dads car,, thank u and have a great day
