Vehicle Detail
Up for your consideration is a beautiful black 1973 Ranchero GT, with a factory " N Code" 429-4v engine. This car is a real diamond in the rough, coming equipped with special custom paint from the factory as well as the big motor. From what I can see, the car was repainted once, and the original color was Black with an Orange Stripe. it is one of 808 Rancheros with the aforementioned special paint, and one of 519 with the 429/C6 engine/trans combo in 1973.To my knowledge, the car is all original except for the Original (not reproduction) 15x9 American Racing T70R wheels and 3 old BF Goodrich tires. The 4th tire is a brand new Hercules HP 4000 tire form America's tire. I need to sell because i would like it to go to a home that will refurbish and restore it as much as i wanted to; I just ran out of time. The car starts and runs, but needs the issue with the steering (mentioned below) to be repaired to drive again. Title is clear and in my name. Here are the stats on the car that i know of. It has 61,103 Miles, which i believe to be accurate due to the lack of wear on most parts. Engine: Original 429-4v engine with the large chamber D3VE-A2A heads, only bettered by the D0VE and cobra heads. All original parts on the engine, except radiator. Radiator is an all aluminum, 3 core unit made for heavy duty cooling. Eight Bosch Platinum plugs and Bosch oil filter included for the tune-up that i never got to. Previous owner redid the fuel and brake lines, as well as a new mechanical fuel pump.(for the pump, i have the box, but not the reciept for it.) Previous owner bought a battery for it as well. it is a Super Start, dated 4/10. Steering/Suspension: The steering box blew a seal, a new replacement box(read- not just the seal, the entire steering box) is included with the sale, just needs installation. It has a Late 70's Pontiac Trans Am steering wheel. Brakes: The front rotors need to be replaced,as well as new pads of course. I was planning to convert the front brakes to a 13" setup from the 1972-74 thunderbirds. (bolt on) Rust/Rot None to speak of. had a few pinholes in the rear floor, has been repaired. Exterior: has a dent on the RF fender, pictured. has a few dents in the tailgate, pretty minor. The Driver's side door has a dent by the front panel gap. the door. see below. The Door. has been replaced, but it has not been put together again. I have all the parts to put it back together, including the door card, which is in mint condition. only the right door was replaced. Original door will be included with the car if it is wanted. Interior: has been completely taken out for the pinhole rust repair and the planned steering box fix. i have a brand new carpet from Auto Custom Carpets, and it is complete, with no missing trim parts. seat is torn, but foam is all there and cam be restored by any competent upholstery guy. The dash has no cracks. A dash mat is included. Overall, the car is in excellent condition for it's age. it is a true "survivor" car. if i had the time, i would restore it myself, but unfortunately, i dont have the time. I am asking $3500 as my Buy It Now, which I think is a fair price considered the condition and the rarity of the car. I have all reciepts for what I have done or bought for the car, except the door, which was purchased privately. Please no scammers, and feel free to ask me questions if i forgot to mention something in the listing. I will try to help with shipping as much as i can. Although the car runs and kind of drives, the car can NOT be driven home. NOTE: the picture in the title of the listing was taken last year. The last picture in the photos is more representative of the car's current condition (new dent, door, and no hood scoop) On Nov-03-11 at 16:30:06 PDT, seller added the following information: A complete Ford Service manual set on cd is included with the car as well as the original Ranchero Ad, with the brown car on the cover that is included with the car, as well as a photocopy of the Ranchero GT ad with the white car/orange stripe on it. both are in mint condition. I was not planning on including the Hood scoop in the ad, but if the buyer wants it, it is available for an extra $25. It is off of a 1983 Mustang GT, and i was going to cut the hood and the intake side of the hood scoop to make ta a functional setup.
