Vehicle Detail
Up for auction is my 1973 Triumph Spitfire. A recent divorce & consequential move necessitates sale. This is a no reserve auction. This car MUST sale so bid accordingly. I have owned the car for many years and have absolutely clear title. The car was been garaged for as long as I have owned it. It has not seen rain. This has been one of my favorite possessions and hobbies and it’s hard to let it go. Times change. I have been slowly restoring / fixing up the car when I have some spare monies to put toward the car. I have purchased a number of items listed below that are not necessary for the car, but more along the lines of upgrades both in performance and aesthetics. I am a Mechanical Engineer & a somewhat good, but slow, mechanic and truly enjoy working on these Leland sports cars. I have had a one Spitfire or another for the last 20 plus years. The latest additions which are not listed below, but already installed on the car are as follows; A new rear traverse leaf spring. This spring was purchased from Victoria-British (as were all parts) and is a performance spring which is 30% stiffer then the stock leaf spring…makes a big difference. New battery. New front gas shocks. New engine mounts. New brake master cylinder. New fuel pump. New convertible top. New convertible top boot. A completely new upholstered interior and trunk. Monza performance exhaust. And I’m sure there are other items I can’t recall at the moment. New (in box) Parts & Spare Parts to be included: Aluminum Valve Cover & Gasket, Fireball XR700 / XR3000 Electronic Ignition Kit, Fireball Ignition Coil, Spare Bosch Spark Plugs, Starter Solenoid, Distributor Cap, Choke Cable (2 pieces), Fan Belt (2), Fuel Filters, Kevlar Top & Bottom Radiator Hoses, Radiator Cap, Thermostat (2), Complete Car Brake Parts, Complete Wheel Bearing Kit, SU Carburetor Oils (3), KYB Gas-A-Just Shocks (2), Complete Bushing Sets for Entire Car, Front Windshield & seals, Side Windows & Fuzzy Weather-strips, Dash Overlay, Ashtray, Sun visors (2), Glove Box / Tray Railing, Extra Wheel Beauty Rings, Spline Adapters for future Wire Wheels, Wire Wheel Knock-Off Hammer, Car Dust Cover, Tonneau Cover, the perquisite Union Jack License Plate, and many, many fasteners, gaskets, hose clamps. As indicated above, these are brand new and still in the Victoria-British Box. Please price some of these items in their catalog as this list adds up to a substantial investment. Thanks for your consideration. I don’t think you could be disappointed in this car. If you are interested in the car and would like to stop by to view and drive, please send me notice and we’ll get together on a time. Also, forward all questions so that I may satisfy any reservations you may have. Please note that I will not end this auction early, so please don’t ask me to. Thanks.
