Vehicle Detail
You are bidding on a 1964 Chevrolet Chevelle Malibu SS Convertible. I recently purchased this car from a 92 year old gentleman that is the second owner of this car and has owned it for over 35 years. He kept this car in his garage with a car cover on it. Every week he would start it and once a month take it for a drive around the country. He also used it in several parades. The car is in great original condition and has been well maintained by him over the years. It has been repainted once to the original color and still looks pretty good considering the paint is over 20 years old. It does have some nicks and chips and would benefit from a new paint job but shows well as is. The car is rust free but does have a couple small rust blisters in the paint around the wheel wells in several spots. The interior looks like new. the brakes are all new with a new master brake clylinder. The tires are radials and still in good condition. The prior owner had replaced the convertible top and shocks. The motor is not the original 327 that came with the car but has been upgraded to a 350. Other than that the car is completely original. The chrome bumpers are near perfect. All the electrical appears to be in good working order. Since my purchasing the car I have performed the following repairs and enhancements; -rebuilt the radiator -had the rodchester 4 barrel quadrajet carb professionally rebuilt -installed a new fuel pump -complete tune up -installed a new dash -had the car buffed out and chrome/stainless trim detailed -detailed the interior -refurbished the jack and tire iron, -repaced the dash lights -installed new tail light lenses -installed new hood insulation kit -installed factory spare bottle for windshield solvent -replaced vacuum hoses and gas lines In general, this car has been pretty well sorted out. I had a professional shop in my home town do a complete inspection of the entire car and have a clean accounting of that inspection available. If you have been looking for an unmolested Malibu SS to invest in than look no further. This car drives great and is in really great original condition. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions or would like to inspect this fine car. On Nov-03-11 at 07:42:55 PDT, seller added the following information: I was recently informed that this car originally came with a 283 V8 from the factory as determined by the frot fender emblems. I was told the 327's had flags.
