Vehicle Detail

Normal 0 false false false MicrosoftInternetExplorer4 1953 Hudson Hornet 4-door sedan 84800 original miles Powertrain: original 308 cubic inch 6 cylinder with Twin H-Power dual carbs 3 speed automatic transmission 6-Volt electrical system Exterior: Two-tone green paint in original colors New chrome bumpers Fender skirts Original wheel covers New-condition wide white-wall bias-ply tires - less than 100 miles on them All lights work No cracked or broken glass. Right-side vent-window glass has aging spots along bottom edge All doors and windows operate well. Interior: All new professional two-tone upholstery and headliner Upholstered trunk Push-button ignition Radio and speedometer work. Temp gauge does not work. Clock and Gas gauge work but accuracy is questionable Hudson Weather Control heater - works New door and trunk weatherstrips Rear-seat fold-down armrest Fold-away radio antenna – operates correctly Wipers work Options: Factory optional underdash swing-out facial tissue holder Chrome window visors Tinted glass This beautiful Hudson Hornet is complete – no missing parts! My father has owned this Hudson since 1983, and always kept it garaged. It is registered and licensed. It runs smooth, without any excessive oil usage, but as was common to these vintage vehicles, it gets vapor lock and is often hesitant to start. It still has the original mechanical fuel pump and gas lines, which get heated easily by their close proximity to the engine and exhaust pipes. The vapor lock problem could probably be solved with a better fuel pump or, as some have done, using a 12 volt battery to spin the starter faster. Or by wrapping the fuel lines with insulation. Most of the bumper assemblies have new chrome, but some of the other chrome parts have pitting. Some rust on under-dash items. Hudson poster (see pictures) included. I would be glad to answer any questions about the vehicle. Payment: Deposit of US $500.00 within 24 hours of auction close. Full payment required within 7 days of auction close.
