Vehicle Detail

It’s time….It’s time for Gretchen to move into a new relationship. It’s not her, it’s me. She’s wonderful; great body, killer ass, easy to get along with. I just haven’t the resources to give her the tender loving care that she deserves. We’ve been together going on 5 years, committed relationship. She’s been great to me and in the beginning I returned the love. She has always been garaged and/or covered, bathed regularly and kept maintained. Then I went away for a bit, business, and she sat, unloved. Seals dried and motor went. Last year I replaced the long block, real nice pro-built dual port 1600, kept the accessories, she lost her bosch alternator and she’d like a new one. The “autozone” takes away a bit of her luster. Other than that mechanically she’s rockin’, she got the solex carb, she loves it, j-pipes (but could take boxes), electronic ignition and bug tranny w/ brand new boots. Mechanically she’s 100%. Motor just broken in, Sunday driver, oil changed regularly nothing but chevron 20-50 and premium fuel…and new battery(autozone) Cosmetically she could use a lil’ makeover. She was restored 6 years ago, forward pan replaced, new upholstery, and paint inside and out. She’s originally a panel retro-fitted new at EZ-Camper in Costa Mesa, German born but raised in California, original ’63 black plates. I needed the room so the ice-box came out and the second bench, which is why the floor isn’t complete. I was contemplating putting them back or finishing out the floor, but I’ve been contemplating it for 2-years now. She’ll move with all the original parts so her new partner can decide. She still has the original wood paneling and headliner, headliner hasn’t been painted but the paneling and closet has been. She was living coastal and a little rust started showing itself and the roof so I nipped that in the bud and took it down sealed it and primed it. She been enjoying the desert air since and the cancer has stayed in remission. Then a little while back she took a little freeway debris in the face and lost a little make-up (bondo). She’d really love a blasting and total make-over but could be touched up almost as good. To recap: Great new motor ~ 1000mi. 1 y/o, 4 oil changes chevron 20w-50 She’d like a bosch alternator, she can be vain Shoes are good, two new tires in back, front tires good tread but starting to crack on the walls. Probably need a new pair soon. She likes the good-year eagle GTs (matches her back pair) Wipers need attention (pretty sure motor is good the blade it just disconnected) Ram air conditioning need attention (grating underneath visor is bonded shut)??? No rubber around doors. No lock on deck lid A ‘lil cracking and missing bondo on her pretty face Roof repaint Interior decision to put back to original or customized? Other than that she’s one beautiful, classic German beauty, who has given a lot and has a lot more to give. Of course I would like top dollar but will NOT ship, sorry Hawaii, sorry Japan, sorry UK, sorry Germany, sorry all who are not in the lower 48. I do ask she goes to a good, loving home, preferably in California. She’s really attached to her black plates and don’t see her taking them off without a fight. I do understand the nature of the selling process prevents me from verifying all bidders so I ask for your cooperation and understanding. I also ask for your understanding that all I have said is true and to the best of my knowledge. But she’s almost 50 years old there might be issue that has yet to surface or that I am unaware of. Understand that she’s a VW with a VW motor, if on the ride home the throttle cable breaks, the fuel pump goes out, etc….it’s not on me. No whinners. Ask your questions, I will be quick to respond. Come by anytime for a look and test drive, I encourage it! I ask for a $500 paypal deposit w/in 24 hrs and cash money or bullion at ‘63 spot in hand within the week, unless otherwise agreed upon. I reserve the right to end the auction early for an eager and insanely generous buyer.Pictures will come soon, I just wanted to get it started. Friday night is a good auction end time. I have had no problem with any driveways or bumps or dips. I believe she's at a perfect height.NO I will not ship it overseas!!! I will not arrange any transport.
