Vehicle Detail
1959 CADILLAC 62 SERIES SEDAN Vehicle listed at $16,500 or BEST OFFER. Please make a fair offer. Vehicle starts up every time and drives fine. 93,400 Original Miles* (400 miles on engine fully rebuilt in 2009). The car had a paint job in the late 70's according to the previous owner and the chrome is in very good condition. This is a perfect driver. The color is woodrose metallic outside and light brown/dark brown interior. The body is straight as an arrow. The car was fully serviced approximately 2 years ago (new carb, engine rebuild, steering replacement, transmission clean out and seal replacement, and more). I purchased the car for $30k and have put $10k into the vehicle since owning it late last year (most into the engine: new camshaft, hydraulic lifters, pushrods, valve springs, pistons, piston rings, and paint). The engine is extremely clean, the interior is gorgeous, the drive is out of this world. This car has new tires, new mufflers, new windshield wiper motors and many parts comes with it. The original inspection sticker from PA is dated October 1958 and still on the windshield. The underneath is very clean, very solid, NO RUST, NO HOLES. To make this car perfect, you will have to repair two small areas. The interior is perfect for its age and it is all original... The radio works fine, power windows, power seat, cruise control etc... This car has no AC, since it was in PA for 48 years. The mechanics at the Cadillac dealership could not believe the condition of this car and that it came from PA. This car is part of a car collection and I will have a hard time to let it go. I have videos of the vehicle (one walking around outside of vehicle while running and another of just the engine while running) that I will try to post on YouTube or I can send them via e-mail if interested. This car will only go to a good home. I am in no hurry to sell it. See the pictures, because they will tell you a lot about the car. I am not a mechanic nor a car expert and can tell you what I know about the vehicle. Purchaser is responsible for any inspection prior to purchase and all sales are final. Car is currently registered in Layton, UT and is driven short distances approximately once per week. BID ONLY IF YOU ARE SERIOUS NO SCAM, OR YOU WILL BE REPORTED EMAIL ME WITH QUESTIONS OR CALL ME (602) 793-7867 I DO NOT WANT TO WASTE YOUR TIME, PLEASE DO NOT WASTE MINE GOOD LUCK AND HAPPY BIDDING I RESERVE THE RIGHT TO END THIS AUCTION AT ANYTIME SINCE IT IS LOCALLY ADVERTISED Based on questions I am receiving, here is more information on this vehicle: The previous owner stated the car had been repainted in the 70's but I cannot verify that. Therefore, worst case scenario the paint job is 50 years old or best case scenario it is 35-40 years old. To be a show car it would definitely need to be repainted. See the pictures of the underside of the vehicle. I can take more if you like. The original undercoating of the vehicle is still visible. I think some of the exhaust type pipes demonstrate some rust, but the body appears to be rust free except for two spots which I mention in the description (there is about a fist size hole in the back of the front left quarter panel which the silver tape is covering--that is how I received it from the previous owner). I believe I am the third owner of this vehicle. I have a low asking price but will entertain serious offers. Again, I have $40k into this vehicle, so it would be a steal in the $20k range, especially with the work I have had done to it. Not sure if I mentioned, but I have replaced the original carburetor with a brand new Edelbrok because the old one had micro-cracks and was leaking, even after a rebuild kit attempt. Also, I have added an alternator and the car is set up for a hot spark start every time. These things can easily be removed if need be. Upon delivery of the car from my mechanics, a small chip in the windshield developed into about an 8 inch crack. The only reason I am not replacing the windshield is that it currently still has the original 1958 Pennsylvania emissions sticker on it. I have priced two replacement windshields at around $350 each from a couple of old cadillac part houses in CA. If you are looking for a solid 59 Caddy to either get an extreme jump start on restoration, or as a driver, this car will suffice.
