It has had impeccable care, has been serviced routinely and more often than required in the VW maintenance schedule. It has always had synthetic oils, and wears recently replaced high quality OE type Continental Tires (cost approximately $750.) This VW Jetta TDI has the 1.9 Liter TURBOCHARGED Diesel Injection engine and 6-speed Automatic DSG transmission. The husband reports a consistent 50+ MPG highway, with the cruise control on at about 78 MPH. The wife gets a consistent 54+ MPG highway, due to her gentler driving with the cruise control set at about 72 MPH. This better-than-usual fuel mileage is due in part to the “Green Chip” which was installed on the car when new, resulting in higher MPG than the other garden-variety TDI diesels! Every Available option: Factory Optional equipment includes DSG (Direct Shift Gearbox), six-speed automatic/manual clutchless transmission developed by Porsche and made available on VWs from 2006 to the current model year. This option allows one to drive in normal “D” Mode with the flawless smoothness of an automatic transmission, “S” mode for sportier shifting and performance, or shift over to Direct Shift and manually shift gears (without a clutch!) via the center console mounted gear lever. Power sunroof can be electrically tilted up for ventilation, and is infinitely openable front to rear for open-air motoring enjoyment. Other options include Leather Seats, Leather steering wheel and transmission knob, Individualized Automatic Climate Control with pollen and dust filters (allows the driver and passenger to set separate thermostatically controlled temperatures). Each individual A/C & heater vent (5 in front, 2 in back) can be individually adjusted or turned completely off if desired. Heated front seats have individual thermostat controls. The VW navigation system is built in to the dash and can be programmed by the driver or passenger. Music choices include Sirius-XM satellite radio, AM, FM (with 12 available presets), and a built-in 6 CD changer. ESP (Electronic Stability Program) and ASR (Anti-Slip Regulation) reassure the driver in all kinds of weather. Front and Rear Power Disc Brakes with ABS (Anti-Lock Brake system) for added safety in braking. 8 airbags include Driver and passenger Front and side airbags, and Side curtain protection head airbags side and rear. Adjustable active front seat head restraints and height adjustable front seatbelts and to comfort and safety. Child-friendly equipment includes LATCH (Lower Anchors & Tethers for Children’s car-seats, Child safety Rear Door Locks, and 3 point safety belts with headrests at all seating positions. The 60/40 folding rear seat opens into the trunk for extra cargo space (see photos), and both sides have valet-lockout locking mechanisms. The rear seat armrest folds up or down as needed and includes cupholders, storage, and a convenient pass-through to the trunk. Dual illuminated visor vanity mirros and front and rear reading lights for convenience. The 16” alloy wheels have anti-theft wheel locks. Factory installed custom floor mats keep the carpets looking new. We believe this car has every available option offered at the time it was ordered new. We have added one safety modification after we bought the car: Originally, the factory setting on the rear turn signals only allowed ½ of the taillights to signal for turning. This could be difficult to see from certain angles, so we had the taillights rewired (at a cost of about $200) to allow the Entire taillight to blink to signal a turn (see auction photos). This increases rear end safety dramatically, and we were commended by our Volkswagen dealer for having had the wisdom to have made such an improvement. If the buyer prefers having the taillights use the factory settings, I will pay to have them placed back in their original configuration before you pick up the car (this only takes a couple of hours or less). This is a 66,000 actual mile car, has never been in an accident and has all of its original paint, interior, etc. It is not perfect, as is the case with ANY used car, but is in way above average condition. Close inspection will reveal small, very minor dents (the largest is the size of a nickel) and a small scratch at the lower area of the Left front wheel. Most of these minor blemishes cannot be seen in normal use except one at the driver’s door (the nickel size one). We are offering this car at an unbelievably low price, as our priorities have changed and we are replacing it with a convertible! Similar cars are selling on eBay in the $13,000 to $15,000 range, but with more miles and/or less equipment than this one.
