This Sidekick has been owned by the same owner since 1996. It was a daily driver until it started having engine problems. The engine light is on. An engine was purchased new from Advance Auto at approximately 100,000 miles with a warranty for 30,000 miles. It was driven daily with no problems. It had a rebuilt transmission put in it after the rebuilt engine. The engine started making noise and to prevent any problems the vehicle was parked. Recently a new fuel pump, in tank filter, and after tank fuel filter were all replaced due to old gas and a new battery was purchased. It started right up and has been driven around with no problems. I am listing this vehicle for a friend. It does make some noise, but it sounds more like valve noise and noise in general. The valves have never been adjusted and there are two bolt missing from the timing cover. I can't guarantee this vehicle is fine for a daily driver, but can't say that it isn't either. I've taken a video of it running that I will post on another site with a link so you can make the call for yourself. I have been told that it should have the valves adjusted and oil changed and both will quiet it down a lot as will the timing cover bolts. All the lights work as do the turn signals. The heater overhead lights all work. It shifts easily and the brakes seem to be up good. The seats and carpet are dirty, but are in good condition otherwise with no rips or tears. Tires have good tread though they may be a little dry from sitting. There is a crack in the windshield which has been quoted at a little more than $100 to replace. There is no rust through on this vehicle partially from being in the south and partially from not being driven in the winter these last few years. The passenger side rear quarter has some damage from a person that hit it one winter. It was never fixed. Take a chance on this and see what you can do. A question was answered about the windows, but we just checked them and they are going up and down. Not sure why they weren't when we tried originally. The wipers have been tested and they all work as does the rear defroster. It was parked in 2003 after it exceeded the 30,000 miles Advance Auto warranty. Emergency brake works and brakes work. Don't know how much brake life is left or how many miles are on brakes.
