Pop a tape in the cassette deck and step back into the '80s in this little time machine... You are bidding on an all original, one-of-a-kind pistachio-colored Volkswagen Rabbit DIESEL (averaging 40-50 miles per gallon!). In the two years that we have owned this Rabbit we have gotten countless "thumbs ups" and "waves" from people. It's been a real gift to hear people share their memories about the rabbit they used to own. This car really brings people together! Thanks to being garaged the original paint job still shines and the interior is super clean with a headliner that is like new. The car starts right up and the manual four speed shifts smoothly. Clean title in hand and we have meticulously maintained the vehicle with regular oil changes. All mechanical work has been performed by a VW mechanic whose 81 Yelp reviews are all five-stars! Upgrades: - Tires (Firestone white walls have less than 10,000 miles on them!)- Hood locks (since hood opens from the outside) In the last two years we have replaced... - Exhaust system (including muffler) - Alternator- Water pump- Timing belt- Brake shoes- Oil pan and gasket Items that could use some attention: - Driver's side door lock needs re-attaching.- Horn doesn't work (have a new horn buyer will get, if they want). This is a 31 year old car, so it should come as no surprise that, like all of us, it's age is showing in minor ways: - Tear on outside of driver's side seat.- Minor oil leak (not enough to even need to add oil between oil changes).- Small dent next to rear license plate and passenger side headlight.- A few small rust spots (less than two inches in size).- Cracks on the dashboard. An excellent car to run on biodiesel or veggie oil if that's your fancy. We have used this rabbit as a daily driver and have thoroughly enjoyed having it. We know the winner of this auction will love it as much as we have.
