This car is a true 1-owner California car, still wearing its original California blue plate; the front plate has never been on the car and is included in the original envelope. The car is loaded with all the factory options as outlined on the original window sticker, see picture below. The spring of 1979 was a very exiting year for Mr. Fite as he just launched his new medical practice and decided he wanted to reward himself. He then decided to take a trip down to Smythe European in San Jose, California and BAM there it was on the showroom floor a beautiful 1978 MBZ 300CD Pastel Blue with blue leather interior. He couldn’t resist, and decided to purchase this fine automobile after a firm handshake and a check written for $25,545 off he went. Throughout the years, this car was driven on a daily basis and enjoyed until it was parked in the mid 1990’s. It has not been started while in my possession, so it will be SOLD AS-IS NOT RUNNING. As you can see, it will need some interior work and probably a complete service. Of course it has minor scratches and indentations, after all its over 30 years old. Please don’t ask me what she needs to get running as I’m not a mechanic. This is a perfect car for the enthusiast who loves a vintage Mercedes. You will be hard pressed to find one with the documentation this car has. I have ALL the original documentation including all books, manuals, the original window sticker, and original new car pre-delivery inspection, and the original pink slip.
