Vehicle Detail

For your consideration is a very nice 1987 Buick Grand National. I purchased this car at 76,000 miles and it was in poor shape. I have spent the last 2 years along with a lot of time and money getting this Grand National back to the condition you see here. I will list the things that have been done by car sections to make it easier to remember. I am sure that I may miss something but please ask any and all questions that you may have and I will answer them the best that I can. Before I list the sections please understand that descriptions of any items for sale are subjective and I would encourage any interested parties to come and view the vehicle in person or send someone with knowledge of these vehicles so that you can make a more informed decision before you consider a purchase. Drive train: Rebuild of the motor was performed by a very reputable shop in the GN community, this rebuild including a new crank kit. Cylinders were bored .020 with new pistons and associated performance parts, roller rockers, cone pistons, head studs the best of the best everything. Complete new bottom end, deep dish oil pan. A brand new turbo, (kirbans step up from original). New 42 lb. injectors for better atomizing of the air and fuel, new hot wire kit with new dual fuel pump and filter for more accurate and consistent fuel delivery. I added new stainless steel headers with a 3" downpipe and all new dual exhaust from hooker (3 inch I believe) Champion aluminum intake, 160 thermostat. I also replaced every sensor on this engine with its original A/C delco replacement part. I replaced the mass air flow sensor with the best aftermarket unit made although the engine light still comes on from time to time. a cold air intake system and an underdrive pulley system from RJC racing, There was also a new updated performance computer chip put in for better performance and efficiency (I have the original chip). There is a scan master installed to set up and monitor the motor calibrations. Transmission was rebuild by the best shop in NY (All stock parts that were replaced and worth saving for originality will come with the car) All brake parts were replaced with the best performance equipment offered, if your going to go fast you have to be able to stop fast. Cross drilled and slotted rotors included. For you originality guys like me: Though many of the parts listed sound like high performance they are merely what the Grand Nationals lacked and should have had when they were designed. These components merely address the short comings of the Grand National and make it a more reliable, efficient and yes...faster car. They are bolt on and the original components come with the car. Heating and cooling: New radiatior, blower motor, relay, heater core and all parts to make the heat work properly. The A/C compressor and almost all of its related parts are also bran new. Wheels and Brakes: The power master unit was sent out to kirban and rebuilt. Suspension: Hotchkis: Springs and rear sway bar, Bilstein shocks and hollow front bar with steering stabilizer. All new front bushings, ball joints, and tie rods. Nothing over looked. Eletrical: Power windows, locks, driver seat, rear defrost, cruise control and power entenna. The power antenna stopped working and stays in the down position. This car is equipped with the concert sound stereo (speakers in the driver and passenger doors) all speakers were replaced with sony explode’s. Stereo is a sony explode,CD and IPOD adapter. Original radio comes with the car as well as the sony. Exterior: Gloss Paint and minor body work was performed about 2 years ago and is in great condition. Typical for the GN and just like this one, it has some under the paint bubbling on the very bottom of both doors. (see in pictures). Lower section of doors and fenders have been repainted with rock guard just like from factory. Interior: Nice interior with the Black and gray GN seating and the turbo 6 emblem on the headrests. I replaced the head liner and sun visors. There is no traditional sagging of the head liner, it sits perfect. Factory idiot lights typically tell you there is a problem when it is too late so I installed a VDO replica of the GNX dash with all the gauges. Interior was in great shape when I got the car, just needed a good bath. Note: Though I have tried to describe this item as well as I could there may be things that I may have missed, please inquire if you need more information. I have most receipts for the parts I have replaced and will be happy to supply them. Now is the time to get a hold of a Grand National as they are becoming increasingly popular in the collector market. Please don't bid if you cannot follow through with the transaction.
