Vehicle Detail
Up for auction is a 1970 Plymouth Sport Fury 4 door sedan. This vehicle runs and drives great and is currently licensed in the state of Missouri. I even took this car on part of the Hot Rod Power Tour this year and it didn't have any trouble going over 1,500 miles in five days! The odometer shows right around 82,000 original miles and I believe I am the third owner of this car. The car is a 318 2-barrel V8 with power brakes and power steering. This car is mechanically sound with many updates, including an added electric fan and new duel exhaust. The car still wears it's original B-5 blue paint which looks okay in photos but is dull and has been touched up in places. The top is not vinyl but rather a factory white painted top; which I believe is rare as most Furys were either vinyl tops or all one color. Other than the ripped up cloth inserts on the seats, the interior is in excellent shape. The dash is perfect, the headliner is perfect, the door panels are perfect, and the carpet isn't bad. If you had the seats re-covered the interior wouldn't need any other restoration work. The body is straight with no dings or dents. There is some rust in the rear quarters and the lower side of the passenger's front fender. Other than that there is no other major rust. The floors and frame rails are solid, and the trunk is perfect. The trunk still even has it's original liner that's in great shape. The grille is in great shape and the hide away headlights work perfectly. All the glass is perfect and all the weatherstripping is still in great shape with no evidence of leaks. Everything still works on this car! I imagine this car is rare simply because it's the top of the line Sport Fury and yet it's a sedan, with a small block, with a painted metal top and no AC. This car also came with the standard AM radio which I have with the car but there is currently a CD player in it now, that works great. The dash was not cut or damaged in anyway to install the CD player and if you wanted the AM radio could be re-installed for the stock look. Seeing as how it's already a blue and white, full-size sedan with minimal options, this car would make an excellent police car replica. I have a disassembled vintage light bar the comes with the car. The car also wears a set of 15" MOPAR 'Cop' style rims and dog dish hub caps. Below is a drawing of what I had planned on making it look like as a police car. Thanks for looking!
