Up for auction is this nice 1953 Ford Customline two door sedan. This car received a body off restoration approximately 12 years ago. The car is painted in a nice two-tone dark over light blue combination that I believe to be fairly accurate to an original color combination. This car was originally black,but you can find no evidence of that,except for the color code. I was not the owner at the time,but it appears that the work was done by private individuals as opposed to a "professional" shop. This car,of course,remains a very nice & above average "driver" quality vehicle,but is now at a point where I don't have the time or desire to return it to its previous restored state. That is where you come in! I currenly have six vehicles,and something has to go! I have done a lot of the needed mechanical work, over the last 1000 miles or so. The Fordomatic has had a complete overhaul,and universal joints replaced. The cooling system has had a complete going thru. The radiator is new,as well as all hoses,clamps,thermostats,water pumps,(with new motor mounts), so you should have NO overheating problems. The battery,cables,and hold down parts,are new.The car retains it's original 6V system. The good old Flathead runs well,and seems to be in a good state of tune. The carburetor is new,along with the double action fuel pump for the vacuum wipers. The car also has an auxilliary electric fuel pump,which makes the car easier to start if it sits for a while in between drives,like this one. The car sounds good,with a nice dual exhaust system,that is in virtually new condition. This car was nicely equipped when new as it retains the factory tinted glass all around,and 6 button deluxe radio,which plays well, & electric clock. The clock rarely works,just as delivered from Ford. All gauges work,including an add-on Stewart -Warner oil pressure gauge. All lights on this car work,with the exception of the reverse lights.The only non working item on this car that I am aware of is the horn,which I believe to be a simple fix.This car retains bias ply tires in like new condition,mounted on smoothie wheels. The original steel wheels & full wheel covers will go with the car. I have included a picture of the car with the painted wheels & wheelcovers. As I go thru boxes there will be some extra misc. parts that will go with this car also. This car has a clear title,and is ready to go. Obviously,I can't cover everything,so don't hesitate to message me with any questions you may have. This car is being sold as-is / where-is. Ford's warranty period expired well over 50 years ago,and I don't plan on offering an extended warranty. I do not ship cars. I will be glad to assist & accommodate the shipper of your choice,if needed. I will require a $250 non- refundable deposit thru PayPal within 48 hours of the end of auction. The balance to be paid within 10 days after auction close by certified bank check. Bank contact information to be provided along with check.
