Vehicle Detail
This truck has been my pride and joy for close to two years, and unfortunately the fun must end due to the financial commitments of college. It has a semi-rare drive train being that it has the 7.3 turbo diesel hooked up to the famous ZF-6 6 speed manual transmission. Anybody who has ever had one of these trucks will tell you that they are the hardest working, longest lasting, best looking trucks on the road. I have enjoyed every moment with this truck and it has literally pulled me, and others, out of every situation imaginable. With that said, there are a few things this truck is NOT. It is not a sports car or the kind of vehicle you want to be on the highway with day in and day out. It pulls well down the road and can reach interstate speeds of 85 mph, but cruises comfortably at 70mph. This truck would make for a great advertisement canvas for a business, a great tool to have on the weekend when you want to cruise and get every bodies attention, or use it as the daily commuter and create jealousy from everyone of your friends that drives a "plain" truck. I use the truck as a daily commuter and everyone always wants to ride in the 'monster'. When I bought it, my parents absolutely loved it because there are few safer vehicles on the road and with the 3.73 gear ratio that was in it racing, pulling, or "creating havoc" was impossible. 450(+-) miles ago I replaced the stock 3.73 ring and pinion with name brand 5.38 ring and pinion front and rear. The truck's true beast emerged and I only wish I had done it sooner. If you have ANY questions e-mail me at brdavid@iastate.edu or give me a call at 515-556-6471 (leave a message if no answer).
