This is the last and best of the finned Hawks. The first year for four speed transmission, and first year for bucket seats in the Hawks. It also has four barrel carb, twin traction rear differential, and factory tachometer. This car was stored for thirty years in a barn in Rifle Colorado, from 1969 to 1999. I purchased it in 1999. I replaced the exhaust and flushed the fuel tank and system.. Two years later I had the seats and carpets redone. The car had all original paint, and it looked good with a polish and wax. In 2006 I had the minor body repair and had a high quality urethane (Dupont Imron) paint job done. (over $5000) The only rust was a small bubbling on the rear of the left fender. (it was cut out metal was replaced) The car starts and runs strong. (no smoking) The brakes work great, and the tires are almost new. The tach worked when I got the car but I changed the dash because someone cut out for a later radio. I think I may have failed to connect something in the back. The horn wire is loose at the bottom of the steering box so horn does not blow. One of the front bumper guards has a dent. (see picts) The right front side grill has a small piece broken off of the corner. (see picts) Over all this is a great car and with a little detailing and fixing these small electrical problems would be very presentable for show or display. The paint is still almost perfect. There is an oil change sticker in the door jam from Feb 1968 showing the milage of 72841. Also there is the remains of the 1968 Colorado safety inspection sticker. The 2000 emision sticker was when I first licenced the car. In the eleven years that I have owned this car I have only put about 400 miles on it, and most of that was in the first three or four years. It has been stored in a heated garage since it was painted.The right door panel needs the silver insert replaced and the armrests need recovering.
