I bought it from the now defunct PV Cruisers when they were going out of business in 2006. Over the years I have done a little here and a little there but I just don’t have the time or the space to devote to the old girl. Below is the good and the bad: The good · Rebuilt 2H Diesel with less than 500 miles on it. All work was done in Cali by PV Cruisers using Toyota parts or items bought from Spector Off Road. · Rebuilt split case, again with less than 500 miles · H55f 5 speed with a new clutch, again less than 500 miles · Rotomaster turbo, totally rebuilt. I’m told this was an old school kit that was offered in Australia but I’ve never been able to find any info. Rotomaster is an OEM though that’s used on CAT Diesels in the US. · Rebuilt radiator with all new hoses · New water pump · New Yokohoma 31x10.5x15 ATS tires (250 miles if) · Painted early to mid 80’s Land Cruiser alloys · Spridertrax front wheel spacers · Man-a-fre front winch bumper · Dual tanksViVintage a/c The bad · The engine oil pan has a pretty decent leak when the truck sits. My plan was to take it off and weld or braise it since it’s a rare item. · There is rust but nothing too drastic. Both floor pans have been replaced at some point and the rain cap has rust along the roof line. There are spots where it looks as though someone brushed paint on it. From 5 feet away everything looks good but as you get closer you can see the issues. Again, this is a 30 year old truck. · Both front birfields need service. · The brakes are pretty anemic. The truck stops but they definitely need work. · The former owner in Australia had a number of off road lights which didn’t make the trip to me. All the wiring, relays and switches did. · Dash was cut to make room for a VDO tach in the center. This wasn’t really big deal to me but I’m sure to some its rather blasphemous. · The tranny hump was cut to make room for the new transmission. Galvanized metal was pop riveted to make a cover over the transmission/transfer case. If I was to keep I would take that off and weld new metal to it for cleaner look. All parts for the a/c are included but the compressor is not currently mounted. I have no idea if it works. That’s all the big things that I can think of. All in all it’s a great truck that has more power off the line than any FJ40 I’ve ever owned. I’d love to keep it but priorities in life have changed over the years and keeping a truck that I’ve literally driven 300 miles in 6 years really doesn’t make much sense! The truck is located outside of Columbus OH. It will be sold with a Virginia title. Records of all work done by PV Cruisers and everything I’ve bought for it will go with. While I drove the truck for 200 plus miles in August and never had any issues I'm not entirely sure I'd drive it cross country since it really hasnt been on the road since 2006. I'm currently separated from the truck but can accommodate any requests for photos that are needed. Cash or certified funds only. The winch is not included in the sale. On Oct-15-11 at 08:36:38 PDT, seller added the following information:I'm working on get pictures of the undercarriage and engine up. I do have video of it running if you email me. I've had a number of questions as to the driving the truck cross country. From a powertrain standpoint I really dont envsion any issues at all but this is a 30 year old truck that lived the majority of its life in Australia which has had limited use the since 2006. As I stated the brakes are a weak point and the steering could use adjustment. It is RHD in case you didnt notice. Reserve is set at 8500 which I think is incredibly fair for what you get. Thanks! Steve
