Vehicle Detail
This is just a great truck! Everything works except the heater and the radio. Odometer indicates 41,314 miles which are hopefully all original. Should that not be the case, there has been a new engine recently installed. Basically rust free with the exception of normal oxidation that occurs on uncovered metal. Would appear that it has never been in an accident. Short VIN numbers not available on CARFAX however believe this unit was owned by probably at least two other owners; Southwest Airlines and another private party. Truck appears to have been kept inside during its lifetime. Eight and ½ foot bed, 127” wheel base. Tracks straight and true on the road, no leaks anywhere whatsoever, all gauges work, no broken or cracked window glass. Former engine replaced by a more powerful 350 C.I.D 290 H.P. long block GM Good wrench crate engine. If you check out the engine and parts upgrade costs below, they will most probably exceed the asking price of this truck! Unit includes: Two sets of tires and wheels. (see below) New(er) 350 GM “Good wrench” crate engine Offenhhauser dual port intake manifold New Edelbrock 1406 Carburetor, Performer, 600 cfm, 4-Barrel and air cleaner Pertronix pointless ignition system Pertronix Flamethrower coil. Headman long tube headers New adjustable Rancho shocks New Rebuilt GM starter and alternator (still in box-old one works fine) New cab mount bushings New cap+rotor, spark plugs+plug wires, wire boots, fuel pump. New dash cap and cover. New battery, spark plugs and wires. Advised that the truck has a TH 400 Hydramatic 3 speed transmission. All electrical works, headlights, brake lights, turn signals, wipers, horn, etc. This unit can haul heavy loads and would make a great work horse or putter with truck. Heavy duty but gets out and goes. Subject purchased with the idea of mounting a cab-over camper and pulling a boat somewhere (Maybe up to see cousin Sarah). Things happen so my loss will be your gain. Believe unit needs a new radio. Antenna is missing and existing radio is the original 43 year old AM only that shows no signs of life. New radio's now-a-days come with so many gadgets and options that I'll leave that replacement decision if any up to you. Was told that unit needed a new heater core. Was going to install one of those inexpensive $35.00 cigarette lighter plug-in heaters often seen on eBay but things haven't got that cold yet. Rear bumper missing, no A/C. Side panels and upholstery are probably the original as is the floor mat. Bench seat has two very minor tears which can be fixed with a minimum of effort if desired. Paint job is so-so along with a so-so color scheme (good old South West). Body has little dings here and there but nothing major. For some reason, South West punched a couple of 2” hole in the bed liner which can be patched with little cost. Fleet side pickup boxes were available with either steel floors or with an optional wood floor protected with steel skids. Unit has the classic wood floor which are now rare and which show little indication of outside storage and or damage! The existing tires are in decent shape. They are mounted on the original two piece rims so the tires have inner tubes and go clunky clunk until after the tires warm up in a few hundred yards down the road. I am throwing in an extra very hard to find and very pricy set of Chevy 8 lug tubeless steel wheels with five tires (correction, both sets of wheels are hard to find and pricy) Four of the tires are Goodyear Wrangler and mounted. The fifth is unmounted and is a tag along. You are invited to inspect and drive this vehicle.
