For sale is a very well maintained and dependable southern FJ 60 LandCruiser. I have owned the vehicle for over 10 yrs. and use it only on the weekends or for trips to the mountains. Purchased the car with approximately 130,000 miles on it - so very little use from me as you can tell. Hate to sell but a recent move has put me too far from the NC mountains so I just don't use the car anymore. Would make a great mountain or beach car for a family. Because I serviced the car myself I can provide a detailed and honest description. Mechanical Car starts, runs, and stops perfectly. The car is quiet and smooth shifting and can cruise all day at 65-70 mph. The top part of the engine was rebuilt by previous owner with approx. 110,000 miles on it. I had the carburetor rebuilt and tuned by Jim Chenoweth (the best in the business) and installed a performance distributor (DUI). New belts and coolant hoses were installed as well as all emission hoses. Brakes - replaced brake booster, master cylinder, all hardware and pads on the back, and rebuilt front calipers with new pads for the front - around 150,000 miles.Recently replaced the exhaust manifold gasketNew battery in the last few monthsNew fuel sending gauge Oil changed every year regardless of low mileage; transmission/transfer/differential flushed at 140,000 miles; coolant the sameBelts changed around 150,000 milesSteering knuckles ooze a little grease but have been doing so since I purchased the carCar drips a little oil like most CruisersTires have less than 5,000 miles on them - excellent conditionHVAC blows very cold and all electric works Exterior No rust, paint in very good condition overall. Looks great given the car's age (score 8 out of 10?) Some minor dings but any chips have been sealed.Minor clear coat peeling on driver door near window - recent Chrome wheels still look good and shine up when washedFront and back chrome bumpers have dents Interior Original seat covers are in excellent condition except for driver bottom cover - wearing thin on left side.Installed new carpet kit and sound deadening material for entire inside of car - looks great Original headliner has a few white paint spots in the cargo arearadio has been removed; speakers and wiring in placeSome miscellaneous parts/bolts are available along with shop manuals for the buyer. The car is very easy to work on and about any mechanic can do most required maintenance and service. Parts available new (or used) in multiple locations as well as the dealership.
