Vehicle Detail
1971 Nova for sale. This was my teenager's project car, but he has no time to work on it to finish it, and the money is needed for college. It is a good "20 footer", has a few dings, and some rough rocker panel repairs. It has a 350 that was strong running before the project started, and a Powerglide transmission. He attempted to re-wire the car with a Painless harness and is 80-90% complete with that project. This car needs a little $$$ and a couple of weekends to be drivable, and would be a excellent father-son project. 350 Chevy - Can't read the casting on the block, but the heads indicate the engine might be out of a 1973 Chevelle. Stock exhaust manifolds scrapped for old school long headers, Edelbrock Carb and Edelbrock Performer RPM intake, HEI distributor, A/C delete panel, flex fan. Attention to detail was used to tuck wiring and make for a neat and clean enginge compartment. Powerglide transmission - Excellent shifting transmission. Broken pan bolt needs extraction. Converted from a column shift to a floor shift by installing a rebuilt/rewired tilt steering column out of a 1969 Camaro and a Hurst QuarterStick shifter. Interior - Appears to be the original interior, except carpet. Needs a headliner, and door panels are showing wear. Carpet is very good, and dash cover is repairing the old, cracked padded dash. Brakes - Four wheel drums converted to Power front disc. New discs and lines installed up front, and new line to the rear. Never been used or bled yet. This is project car that is perfect if you have a kid that would like to learn from you and have a cool first car to drive. That is what my son did before he set about trying to detail the engine caompartment and rewire the entire car. What this car needs to have done to be on the road again - Finish the rewire job. It isn't that hard, just time consuming to do it right. Engine compartment is 95% done, interior is 90% done, trunk still needs to be done. Just follow the Painless manual (included). Fix the broken transmission pan bolt and fill with fluid Stab the distributor and set the timing. Have the old dual exhaust mated to the headers or have a new one installed. Connect the rear brake line, bleed and test the brakes. I hate to see it go, but the time has passed to finish this for me and I hate to see a nice old car just rot away like so many others.
