Priced for a fast sale is this super clean and professionally maintained 84 Monte Carlo SS. I hate to part with this vehicle. However, due to frequent military moves and what my wife refers to as an “excessive” collection of cars, it has to go… I’m the third owner (1st and 2nd owners were family members) and between the original owner's and myself, it has never been an everyday driver, stored indoors, and has always been an adult owned car. The majority of the time, the car has been in VA and FL. It has NEVER been driven in snow but does have some minor rust on around the back window, edge of trunk lid, and bottom edge of doors. Otherwise, the body and chassis are very clean. Additionally, it has never been involved in an accident and has the original paint. It’s all original except for a conversion of the original TH350 and 3.42 differential to the same 200R4 and 3.73 that was factory installed on the next year (85 SS). It shifts great and is much more suited for today’s driving. Additionally, ceramic coated (emission equipped) headers have been installed with flowmaster mufflers that give a it a nice throaty sound without anything excessive. The entire exhaust system is squared away! The other modifications include a K&N filter lid have been installed. IE., the modifications can be reversed back to the original equipment. The interior is in EXCELLENT condition to include NO cracks in the dash or rear deck. The headliner is original and is also in excellent condition (no seperation). The only flaw is a few small tears on the side of the drivers seat. This can be fixed by an upholstery shop without replacement of the bucket seat cover. Otherwise, new floor carpet would be the only needed/recommended interior improvement On 27 Sep 11, HadocyCheverolet (local Chevy dealership) performed a passing multi point inspection. In short, this is a very mechanically sound and dependable ride (ALL accessories works). The motor is all original and runs strong! It only burns a small amount of smoke only on start up due to the valve guide seals. It’s been this way for a long time but has posed no real issues (cause is probably due to the storage). Recent work and maintenance includes a professional carburetor “rebuild and tune” approximately 5K miles ago (runs great!). The entire AC system (every component) was replaced and converted to R134 (includes new AC Delco compressor- NEW! Not a reman) approx 8K miles ago. Rear wheel bearings, universal joints, radiator, alternator, starter, and many additionaly parts have been replaced within the last 10K The tires are also new (7 months ago) and have less than 300 miles of usage. Basically, I have spared no expense on good maintenance over the years and pay additional money for new ACDelco brand and the highest quality parts. This includes dealership quality service. I have no doubt that the newowner of this Monte Carlo SS will be pleased!! It’s a lot of car for the price! Please contact me with any/all additional questions.
