Vehicle Detail
I have owned the van since 1999 when I bought it with 12,073 miles on it. It has been used mostly for City driving the kids to and from school and on long vacations. Here is the good things about the van: All new within the last six months: Brakes all aroundRadiatorA/C hoses to the rear A/CBall joints on left frontBody repair and paint jobWindshieldHubcabs (Factory original)Differential serviceRear brake lines Here are the not so good things: The passenger side door has manual locks and windowThe power locks act on their own from time-to-timeThe clear coat has a long fence scratch on one side but paint remains in placeRadio does not work well and tape player has never really workedThe transmission has never been serviced and it is probably about timeRear door does not open from the outside. Cable needed for the repair is in the van.Overdrive button is broken off the shift lever. It is about a $60 part new. Other items: Oil changed about every 3000 miles currently using synthetic blendEngine uses about quart of oil and anti-freeze every 3000 miles or so. It does not leak or smokeAll benches and seat belts are in good working shapeCarpet is good and not worn but is dingy in spotsNo window cracks or leaksHeadliner has no tears or dirtSpare tire in place with lockTires are all Bridgestones with about 60,000 miles on them and in good shape, never repaired.Last long trip was from Chicago to Washington DC in March. No problemsMPG is about 16 but I have not measured it in awhile.Accident this summer was in a parking lot as we backed into a parked car's bumper and scratched it. No damage to the van. Why am I selling. It is 14 years old and it needs proper maintenance to operate and I do not have the time anymore to tinker with it (about once a month). It starts every morning, runs great, rides great and looks great but it is old. If I were to keep the van this is my to do list: Fix the lock problemHave the transmission servicedNew tires within next 10,000 milesFix the rear door (it opens from the inside)
