Vehicle Detail

Collector's Item. Rare condition rust-free California car . This car is an extremely well cared for, smooth running, daily driver with the unique Limited Edition package that was only available in its' final year of import to the US ***Note the hard-to-find original wood-grain dash and shift knob, the condition of the leather wrap steering wheel, LE aluminum wheel package, side panel MGB graphics and aluminum door and sill plates. It comes with an Auto Record Journal documenting fuel fill-ups up until 2001along with all recent repair records with work done by master MG mechanic Classic German-Brittish Solana Beach, California (including: carburetor rebuilt and tuned, new starter, alternator, slave cylinder, fuel sending unit, valves adjusted and valve cover sealed, torqued cylinder heads, full chassis lube, Zinc Hyper Lube oil changes). Compression check indicates ideal compression in all 4 cylinders and mechanic states that motor is remarkably strong for its' age. It has 4 new Pirelli tires with 3000 miles on them. It also features a brand new black vinyl tonneau cover, separate black boot cover, and black vinyl soft top in great condition (new rear plastic window installed by professional auto upholstery house). If you are looking for a beautiful, well preserved and cared for MGB LE ready for touring or daily run-abouts, this is your car. If you plan to have the vehicle picked up and trucked, I will work with you and the carrier to handle details (no worries). Please call with questions - serious inquiries only (760) 889 3019 The Good: 18mpg - handsome british roadsterCalifornia car all its' life - Rust Free above and belowBlack paint is in excellent condition - smooth, dent free body panelsInterior carpet is in nice shapeBlack vinyl seats are comfortable and without sagsDash cover installedAll gauges work perfectlyDrives and stops straight and smoothShifts smoothlyGreat power on the open road - capable of top speed around 100mphNew tires, lubricated suspensionQuiet, smooth running motorKnock-out good looks Things to Resolve:Small tear on side panel of seat (approx. 1.5 inches) easy fix by upholsterer (my son did this accidentally)Passenger side door latch works from the outside but not inside (believe the cable detached from the latch and needs to be reattached) small repairSun visors are good but they tend to want to fall down as the rubber bushing that holds them up is worn and needs replacing. Moss Motors has them for a few bucks eachThere are 2 small paint chips (1/8" x 1/8") that have been professionally touched up to hide and protect from rust. They are in discreet areas that you wouldn't see if I didn't show them to you (edge of rear wheel well and tiny area next to side-view mirror) What it's not: This is not a perfectly flawless, fully restored $16,000 showroom car that never gets driven What it is: This is a mechanically sound, aesthetically gorgeous, strong daily or weekend driver that is well cared for and fully up to date on all services. It is one of the coolest cars on the road and as great as it looks, it's even better to drive. Happy bidding. I will answer all inquiries from serious buyers and will do all that I can to facilitate the final transaction.
