Vehicle Detail

Up for sale is my 1956 Mercury Custom. Has been in my family for about 7 years. We are suppose to be the third owners but you know how that goes. It is a 2dr post car in GREAT daily driver shape. This is not a show car but is a great daily driver and wouldn't take much to make it a show car. It has the original 312 motor with automatic transmission. No air, or power steering. 12 volt system. Car cranks up and runs great every time. Does not smoke. Has dual exhaust with a very low rumble, prob glass packs under it. The motor hardly uses any oil at all. It shifts out great. Cruise at 65mph with a finger on the wheel and no problems. Very tight car. Not all shaken up or anything. Steers straight and true going down the road. Brakes work great as well. It pulls a little to the left when braking hard, prob has some air in that line or something. Spedo works, heat hand works, gas hand is stuck, and oil pressure hand is stuck. There is aftermarket oil and voltage gauges under dash that work. All headlights, tail lights, turn signals and brake lights work. I drive this car a lot and wouldn't be afraid to drive it anywhere at all. Now for the interior. The inside is all original. Seats are what came in it and as you can see the front ones need redoing. The black vinyl is fine and could be left and just redo the cloth part.I usually have some old rugs on bottom of front seats to hide the tore up parts. The back seat isn't tore up just stained up some. The door panels are in excellent shape and show the original light blue and black colors of the car. The dash is also in wonderful shape and original colors, the clock stopped working a few years ago. The back light on the gauges does still work though. it has the radio delete. However someone back in the 80s looks like hung a radio under the dash, not cutting into the dash at all, and set speakers in the rear dash not cutting it at all either. It doesn't work anymore but is still there. The mirror is glazed over and can't use it on the fender. The rear view mirror is still good. All windows roll down and up fine, none are cracked at all. Some bubbling on around the edges of front and rear window though. Floor pans are as solid as a rock. Truck pan is as well. Also has original trunk mat and jack sticker. headliner is all there but is brown and stained up. Handles to get in and out of back seat are there too. Exterior: Car is pretty strait. Doesn't appear to have any bondo in it at all that I can tell. At some point someone did have it painted black and yellow and it looks good from 20ft but it needs repainting. The black is fading on the trunk lid and has many rock chips on the hood. The yellow has some primer spots below doors and several places where it is chipping and came off. The roof has a very small dent that has surface rust only that is pictured. I have pictured all the rust I can find. The worse parts are the passenger fender that has a hole in it and some more bubbling, and under the headlights are bubbling pretty bad. I think you can buy that piece but I am not certain about that. Also some bubbling on drivers door at bottom in two places. Rockers are pretty solid. The rust I pictured is the rust you are getting. Passenger door has some as well as pictured. Not bad at all though. The wheels are just old chrome wheels with rust on them. Tires are good tread and hold air great. As I said, I drive this car a lot. Vacuum whippers work poorly. Stainless has some dings and all but is still very shiny. Bumpers are in great shape as well as the grill and all. The drivers side door scraped a little on the fender when opens and makes a creak sound while opening. Has not dented either one at all just chipped paint. It barely touches it. I have tried to explain all I can about this car. If you have any questions or want any other pictures message me, txt me, or call me at 256-710-4356 between 8am-10pm. Car is being sold as-is where is. Does have a clear Title. To be paid in full within 3days via cash. Deposit of $500 to be paid with-in 24 hours of auction close. If want to Buy It Now just message me for a price and I can post it on ebay. Offers on Other cars welcome as well. Harleys, street rods, late model trucks preferred.
