Vehicle Detail
Up for auction is an excellent example of a 1966 Ford Galaxie 7 Litre with only 43000 original miles and rare documents including original dealer invoice and warranty card. Included is original owners manual and factory manual for 8 track. This car drives as it did when new. This car has all the original standard equipment including 428 engine, C6 automatic transmission, power disk brakes, 3.25 ratio 9 3/8” rear end and XL style bucket seat interior with console and XL style exterior trim. Factory options include power windows, power steering, Selectaire air conditioning, AM radio, Stereosonic 8 track player, deluxe seat belts front and rear, tinted glass and heavy duty suspension. The car has been repainted the original color of candyapple red and looks very nice. The black interior is all original with the exception of carpeting and rechromed arm rest supports. The original wood like steering wheel has cracked as they all do. The padded dash has a small crack near the speaker grill. Otherwise the original interior is in excellent shape. All the exterior trim and bumpers are original and in very good to excellent condition. No parts are missing. All the exclusive 7 litre badging is in place. Everything works as it should including the AM radio, 8 track and air conditioning. There is a very nice modern stereo on the tray in the trunk installed with no modifications made to car. The controller is inside the console. This car was bought in Idaho and spent its prior life in dry eastern Oregon. The car was parked in a garage in the early eighties and very rarely driven until I bought it. When stripped for repaint the only rust damage on the whole car was a tiny spot about the size of a pencil eraser above both rear wheels. That was the only rust damage on the whole car. All the rubber parts on the body have been replaced. The trunk has some very minor surface rust and was nice enough to leave as is. The car was totally detailed from the firewall forward. Every part was cleaned and repainted and every steering and suspension part was renewed. All brakes were renewed as well. It probably looks better than when new. The 428 engine was cleaned and repainted. As a preventive measure the heads were done and the timing set and oil pump were changed. At this time the cam was upgraded to Comp Cams item that has a muscle car sound to it. The intake was changed to a edelbrock and a Holley 670 Street Avenger carb was added. All original parts are kept and are available. Every other item under the hood was either rebuilt or replaced with new. Again all original parts were kept. Also the brake booster and master cylinder were upgraded to 1967 dual style. Again original was saved. Complete new 2.5” exhaust in original location. Sounds great. Overall this is very nicely equipped and very rare car. Very few around as nice as this one. Please feel free to ask any questions .I Will gladly show car to any bidders. $500 deposit within 48 hours of auction end is required. Cash in person or Cashiers check only please.
