Hello and welcome to my auction. I'm going to try to keep this short and sweet and to the point. This is here a 1979 Volkswagen Super Beetle Convertible that was bought from a huge raiders fan and he loved the car dearly. He lost his job and needed to sell the car .I was in the bay area looking at some other beetles when he called me. I know very little about the car . I was told the motor was rebuilt 5 years ago and at the sametime the car was painted and the new top vinyl was installed . The overall condition is very well and I couldn't take it a mile without getting thumbs up and great car and I love your car yelled at me granted we were in the bay area in Raider Nation but the point is that the car gets many looks. The floors are beautiful with NO RUST period and the jack support rails and heater channels are in great condition . The interior is brand new and looks drop dead gorgous . The dash on the drivers side where the speakers go has a odd indentation but the dash itself and the general appearance is extremely nice. The car has brand new tires and the rims look great on this car . This car was not kept outside and has been in a heat controlled garage for the past 5 years. I am cleaning the gas tank out and flushing the lines but this engine runs beautiful. I paid good money for this car and normally I restore the cars but I was trying to help this guy out and he knew I knew beetles and could find it a good home. To give you an idea of what you're buying. I have looked at 6 beetles in the past 10 days 4 in the LA and surounding area and 2 in the bay area and over 1600 miles and 4 hotel rooms and I only picked up 2 of the 6. This one and a one owner so I am very picky on the cars I buy and will walk away from many more then I buy and do the leg work for you. But lets jump back to the car brakes work good ,windows are all good and roll up nice ,windshield wipers work and I don't know if the washer motor does as it runs off the spare tire. The steering is very tight with no wobbles and was told again that the clutch was replaced at the time the motor was rebuilt . I was shown stacks of receipts totalling well over $4,000.00 .This one will make someone a very very fun car but not a show car as it is a daily driver quality. There is no dents or dings and no known damage and a clear title. The bumpers do show some age with normal scratches but above average. If I find anything else wrong with the car I will inform all on ebay . I am planning on driving the car daily up until it sells and if it needs anything I will replace it regardless of what it is .I will be letting this car go No Reserve . So that means the bidders are determing the price and not me . I am taking a gamble and I have seen these cars in this condition selling easy for $7,500.00 and the prices of these beetles are going up . It is almost impossible for me to find restorable beetles anymore . I see $8,000.00 for cars that I wouldn't even buy and have walked away .
